Jocelyn, Jax and I sit in the living room of my new boot.
"Hey Jax," Jocelyn says, trying to start a conversation. "Did I tell you about what happened on the ship?"
What was she up to?
Jax looks at her "What ship?" he asks.
Jocelyn gives him a look. "Oh, you know, the ship that you were almost drowned by a kraken?" She says.
Oh my goblins Jocelyn, no.
"Yeah, what about it?" Jax asks.
If she tells him I'll never live it down-
"Oh, only that Gilly completely freaked out," she says.
Noooooo.
Jax turns to look at me then turns to Jocelyn again. "Really? Go on."
"I did not!" I insist.
Jocelyn grins. "Well, Gilly flipped. She was all screaming your name-"
"I only did that twice!" I exclaim, glaring at her. I was going to kill her.
"Well yeah, and she was going to jump off the ship, but I stopped her."
Jax's eyebrows reach the ceiling. He turns and grins at me, laughing.
"I didn't- I wouldn't- why would I-" What happened to my LYING SKILLS?!?!?!?!?!?
"And you said you weren't worried," Jax says in a teasing tone.
I feel ripples of heat slowly spread across my face. Fiddlesticks. I was caught.
