The Jilly Files

Gilly is gorgeous

"Stand still, back straight," Martha says. 

I listen to her. 

"Perfect!" 

Really? This dress is kind of uncomfortable. I look down at it. The top part of the dress is lavender purple, with long sleeves made out of net and it is glittery with the end part of it light blue (the rest is lavender), a light blue glittery bow in the middle (also made of net), for the bottom part, lavender and light blue stripes on the skirt (also made of net).  In my hair there is a ridiculously big blue clip that I want to get rid of and I'm wearing a light star necklace Kayla bought for me. The girls and I, including Raz, are getting dresses at Martha's shop. Why am I in a dress shop? RA is having a ball for celebration and the crew and I are invited too. Anna really wants me to come so... 

"How do I look?" I ask. 

"You look beautiful," Maxine and Raz say. 

Kayla looks at me. "Gilly you look amazing," she says. 

"Thank you," I say. I turn to Jocelyn. Somehow she looks both elegant and terrifying in her deep, dark purple dress with her hair thrown to the back. 

"You look way better than before," She says. 

I smile. "Thank you." From her that's a compliment. 

AG is grinning. "You look sooo pretty!" She sighs dreamily. 

"So do you," I say. 

She's wearing a fluffy pink gown that looks sooo pretty on her. 

"You all look so pretty." 

"Thank you," they all say. 

"Here, you should wear these," Martha says handing me a pair of short, light blue heels. 

I look at it. "I'm not sure, maybe I could just wear my boots- or get father to send me-" 

"Oh no. You should listen to me. All of the girls I have helped turned out fabulous." 

I hesitate. "Okay then." I take the heels and put them on. "Thank you."

Martha smiles at me. "No problem." 

Kayla is wearing a white and pink dress with a sort of round, flowing skirt. Maxine is wearing a teal dress. That's when Jax and Ollie walk in. 

"You guys done?" Jax asks walking in. He hasn't even seen us yet. 

Ollie whistles. "Who are the hotties now." 

We all laugh. I turn to Jax. Jax's jaw drops. He's staring at me. 

"Gilly, you look- you look-" 

Everyone is staring at Jax and grinning. Jocelyn and Raz have the brightest smiles. Of course they do. 

I play with my hair. What was he going to say? 

"Gorgeous." 

I blush and smile at him. "Thank you Jax." 

"This is possibly the best thing I have ever seen," Raz says. 

"Agreed," says Jocelyn. 

"He's starstruck," Jocelyn laughs.

Jax turns to Raz and Jocelyn. "I am not!" 

Nobody listens to him. They're too busy laughing. 

Jax rolls his eyes. "Whatever," but he's blushing and I am pretty sure my face is on fire too. 

"Okay, let's just go." I grab Jax's arm and walk out of the store. The others follow us too. They finally come out and follow us. Jax stares at his arm and I realize I'm still holding it. I let go quickly. 

"Sorry," I say. 

"It's okay," he replies, smiling and we walk far away from the shop. I just have one thought. Jax just called me gorgeous.

***Jocelyn's mind: Oh my gosh that was amazing. Jax just came in and he was starstruck like so taken by her. He and Gilly were blushing so hard. Priceless. Apparently even Raz has a laugh about these things. Then again he is her brother and it's probably hilarious to see your sibling get flustered. I wouldn't really know since there's no boy in Harlow's life. *shudder* that'd be weird. Anyways it was hilarious. Mission accomplished.
