Why would you do that?

*This happens right after a Gilly worries confrontation when she almost jumps off the ship. I'm not saying it happens after mine, it just happens after Jax is just like no she didn't in a laughing way when they are talking about it*

"Oh my goblins she seriously did that?" Jax asks laughing. "Almost," I say. "I didn't actually do it," I say, grumbling. "You shouldn't have. Why did you?" Jax asks. "I don't know! I couldn't do nothing," I say. "But the point of me getting captured by the kraken was to save you," Jax says suddenly serious. "You shouldn't have put your life in danger," he says. "But you did!" I exclaim. "Well I couldn't just watch you get attacked!" Jax exclaims. "And I could?!" I yell. "How could you expect me not to do anything?! You're my best friend you almost died for me wouldn't I have a panic attack?!" "But if you jumped in there would be no point in doing that-" "Um guys" AG says. "You do realize what you're fighting about right?" she asks. "Of course we do-" "Why wouldn't we-" We go silent. Jax rubs the back of his neck & turns away from me, blushing. I do the same, clasping my hands together & staring at them. "Right," we both say. Maxine & Kayla are giggling while Jocelyn doubles over in laughter. "You were fighting-" Kayla gasps. "For each other's safety," Maxine finishes. "That's sooooo sweet," they both squeal. "Hush it," I say. That's grammerly incorrect but whatever. "You guys are ridiculous," Jocelyn says still laughing. Ollie is choking on his laughter. "Dude you've gone soft. You care sooooo much about Gilly." "Shut up Ollie," Jax says, his face red. "And Gilly just admitted she was scared," Kayla says. "I knew you cared," Maxine says. "Well a lot." That comment gets Jax smiling a little & me hiding in my hair. I have never been more thankful for my long hair until now. "Holy harpies why did I say that," I whisper softly. "Because you do care, I'm your best friend aren't?" Jax asks. "Yes," I say. "So it wouldn't make sense if you didn't care which means you definitely care," Jax says. "So I brought this on myself?" I ask. Jax grins. "Yes." I sigh. Of course I did.
