He talks about you a lot, the confrontation

AG, Jax and I finally arrive at the picnic. Jax looks like this is he's worst nightmare and I am grinning. This will be interesting. AG gives me a look that says 'isn't he cute?' I almost laugh aloud. This is going to be hilarious.
"Hey guys!" Maxine exclaims. Everyone looks up and greets us.
"Hey dude," Ollie says.
"Hey," Jax says.
"Jax did the sweetest thing ever and we just found out!!!" AG bursts.
Everyone turns to AG. "What?!"
"I knew I should've gone with her." That last comment was from Jocelyn. She probably wanted to see one of us get embarrassed. Thank goblins it wasn't me this time.
Jax looks horrified. "AG. that is NOT how you're supposed to start a story! Are you trying to kill me?!" Jax asks.
AG doesn't look moved. "Well, you're gonna die anyway," she says.
Jax doesn't try to argue. I don't get how saying nice things about me will kill him but boys are weird. Or maybe it's because he'll be teased for being soft or the other thing that I can't even think about. No wonder boys suppress emotions.
"Apparently Jax talks about Gilly a lot like whenever he's talking to Raz about us, majority of the time he's talking about Gilly," she says. Jack smirks. "Of course he would, the lover boy." This comment coming from Jack, Jax would want to kill.
Jax grits his teeth. "I am not lover boy," he says, his face once again a fire truck.
"Fairy be, what did he say?!" Kayla asks.
"That I'm smart, brave, kind, caring, amazing, he says I'm someone always ready for a fight and I don't quit till I win," I say.
Jax stares at me. "That's like word to word. You must really care what I think of you," Jax says, starting to smile.
"She probably does," Jocelyn says. No, no not again!!!
"Don't turn this thing around!!!" I exclaim.
Ollie smirks and turns to Jax.
"If that's the case you must really love Gilly Jax," he says. Jax's face is 10 times hotter than before if that was possible. Not the- not the attractive hot that's not what I meant I just mean it was redder.
"Shut up Ollie," Jax says.
"Don't be rude Jax. Plus you were kind of asking for it."
We all turn to Maxine in surprise. She's never one to be rude.
"What?" Jax asks.
"Oh, I'm not being rude, it's just true. What you said about Gilly was sooooo sweet Jax!!! Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww," she says and everyone else except me, Jocelyn and Jack joins her.
"Ugh, just stop it guys, I didn't talk about her that much and what I said wasn't that sweet it's just- just-" Jax looks for a word.
"True? Yes, Gilly is amazing, brave and kind but when you say it it's just sweeter alright? It just is!" AG says.
My friends nod their head.
Jack turns to me. "What do you think about it Gilly?" he asks.
Everyone turns to me. "Me? I'm flattered," I say. I didn't even think before speaking because it was the truth. I mean, come on. Come On. Jax smiles.
"I've never been the one who gets complimented like that," I say.
"But me- being the wonderful person I am, did," Jax says.
"The wonderful person comment is negotiable but about complimenting her, boy did you," Jack says.
Jax glares at him and turns to Ollie.
"Dude, I'm never going to permanently leave this," he says. "It's just too good."
Jax sighs. "I guess I wasn't expecting anything else," he says.
"Okay, can we eat now? I'm hungry," I say and dig in as we go into another topic.

***Jocelyn's mind: Oh I knew I should've gone with them! Then I could've seen that live! Oh and Jax talking about her so much and what he said about her was really nice. And to see the boy blushing and Gilly is just flattered. Jax kind of got Gilly back with the 'you must really care' comment but no way was she gonna let him embarrass her instead of him. I mean it's happened to her so many times there is no way she'd lose her chance to embarrass Jax and Maxine helped a lot. That's about all of the Jilly moments in the whole picnic. Moment collected.
