The alphas were contacting their packs and directing them to come to the castle that they were in danger. While they were doing this Maggi, Alana, the pups and I had begun cleaning the rooms. Many of the wolves that were already there were laying around not doing anything. I sighed as I passed them with another batch of clean laundry; a group of teenagers were wrestling knocking into me. Everything was in slow motion and instead of hitting the ground I flipped and caught the basket catching any stray clothing that missed the basket. When I missed one, the teens dug it into the mud; I could feel everyone tense as I gently sat the basket down. I turned to look at the warriors and my helpers as they to exited the laundry room with clothes, “You are all to begin helping us clean, I don’t care if you’re the mightiest warriors in your pack but when you leave an old lady, two pups and a pregnant she wolf to do all the cleaning what does that say about you being the mightiest. You will report to Maggi, the old she wolf, for cleaning tasks, and don’t think I won’t know if you try to get out of this because I will make your life hell.”
I could see some of Lakota’s men enter the clearing and head straight for Maggi, “Where would you need help mam?”
Maggi was shocked that four men easily walked up to her, “Can you boys help us carry the laundry, we have many baskets.”
They nodded before heading off into the laundry room, I looked around at the others as they just stood there, “Well what you waiting for, for every second that you stand there I will have your instructor add five laps around the track and believe me when I say that it is a long ass track.”
The wolves quickly moved into gear; I smiled as I sighed picking up the cloth that was trampled. I unfolded it to see that it was a blanket that my grandmother made me and that it was ruined it was stained with mud and dried blood because she had taken it during the night of the revolt to fix a patch. I slowly sat it in my pocket and walked off, I passed by many wolves that were cleaning and making it sure that it was done correctly. I saw a group of Luna’s standing to the castle entrance surprised that their warriors were doing anything, I paused before I passed them, “You ladies might be Luna’s but when a royal can take the time to help clean doesn’t that mean you should help too.”“Just because you claim to be a royal doesn’t mean you are one.”
“I know where everything in the castle is, the routes of the secret passages and can even decipher the words on the wall, if that doesn’t say anything then listen to your wolf. Wolfs have the ability to tell you the rank of another.”
With that I continued walking dropping the basket in a closet as I continued down to where my grandmother’s room was, she was a simple woman so her room might have been big but she had few belongings. I stood in the door way staring at the spot where she laid dying, I had rushed in and tried to stop the wound from bleeding out but she pushed me away, “Rozen, vă rugăm să rulaţi menţine familia noastră viaţă şi nu uitaţi ceea ce au fost predate. Proteja slab de puternice şi nu dau.”
I had stared at her a moment before my trusted guard opened the passage and pushed me in as I silently cried for my grandmother, when I was younger she was my best friend beside my brother. She was the only female to approve of me learning to fight and now the only thing I have left from her are those words. My blood started to boil but I slowly calmed down it was my own fault were walking that way when I knew they were fighting. I sighed as I climbed to my feet and made my way to my room to change; after searching my room I found my old workout outfit and I smiled when it still fit. I quickly made my way outside as Takoda got ready to sound the training alarm, my brother quickly exited the castle because he knew that every delayed second would result in laps. The moment the sound went off many looked confused before I spoke into a speaker, “Any warrior not in the training grounds at the end of this sound will be rewarded 20 more laps at the end of training.”
The moment that was out of my mouth many warriors were standing in the field, but the moment the call ended some other wolves exited the building. From their smell I knew that they were alphas and betas and I smirked as they came up to us, “So when do we start.”
Takoda looked at me and nodded his head as I turned to everyone, “I will be your fighting instructor, my brother will run you through courses and Takoda is supervisor and I don’t care your rank, the moment that you ventured on this field you became the lowest of the low. When you are on this field if I see any one use their rank on anyone they will be running laps and since you gentleman were late you get 20 extra laps today. That call is the call for training. Now write your names on this paper and we will start.”
I watched as the paper was passed around and one after another they signed their names, when they finished I nodded to Matt, “Okay to start we are going to split up the field when your name is called I want you to move toward the forest but don’t go in.”
As names were called I looked to the alphas that were standing at the edge of the field, I saw my pups playing with Lakota as he attempted to help Maggi and Alana. I smiled as I looked to the wolves that were put into my group and I noticed the ones that were late, I smirked at my brother knowing he did that on purpose, “I will only say this once, if you slack because you think a girl can’t do much I will make your lives hell and if you harm anyone outside of this field I will throw you in our toughest training field and that is no place for a beginner.”
I looked at the wolves a moment before continuing, “We are going to run through some fighting stances and we will all restart if any fail because when one fails then you all fail. And to tell you the truth we had you write your names down because if you can’t follow the rules given to you and if you fall behind then you will be put on guard duty away from the battle.”
Many growled at my explanation before quickly following my movements, many growled when I held a certain position for too long and finally someone fell over. I could tell by the scent that this wolf was an omega but there was a different scent to him, when I restarted the sequences after he stood up and watched everyone the scent finally hit, his mother must have been an omega but his father an alpha. When he fell over again from a different sequence one of the late comers walked up to him and held him down, “Listen here you omega trash fall over again and I will beat the shit out of you.”
I could see an old wolf almost come over if I hadn’t gripped the young alpha by the neck and placing him in a choke hold, “This is your only warning, you are rewarded ten extra laps onto your other 20,” I let him go as I faced everyone who was looking at us, “I will tell all of you once but on the battle field rank doesn’t matter, so rank doesn’t matter here harm another member for no reason and you will be faced with me and I don’t think that anyone wants to do that.”
With this said we went back to exercises before I had the face me.
“Don’t be scared to go all out but no shifting, fight the temptation because if you shift you automatically lose, and will be running extra laps.”
“What is the purpose of doing these laps?”
I turned to the alpha that had come closer to hear what I would say, “Running in wolf form is easy because you are letting your wolf do most of the work but if you run laps in human form you are making your human stronger, along with fighting without shifting. So by doing everything in human form you also take the knowledge with you when you shift making your wolf and yourself stronger.”
Takoda came forward at this time, “Many of selected royal guard did this from when they were six but the princess did this when she was four.”
Everyone looked at me as I saw my brother directing but not participating, I walked over to some darts before aiming, before anyone could warn him threw the dart having it hit him. He shoot into the air before turning toward me, “What the hell.”
“Just because you are instructor doesn’t mean that you are excused from training now get a move on or I will make you run laps.”
He grumbled before following his group, I sighed as I turned toward my group, “Well let’s start.”
