It happened so quickly, I just watched as my mate was attacked by the pups and all three seemed to be happy but then my mate became tense before I could ask she threw the kids at me. I acted on instinct and caught them but when I looked at my mate I saw a silver arrow lodged into her chest. My wolf was furious I started barking orders as the girl stared crying and yelling at her mother and the boy trying to calm his sister without bursting into tears. The girl burst from her brothers arms to run to her mother and started shaking her, “Mommy, Mommy wake up, you promised not to leave us.”

I walked cautiously to the girl and scooped her into my lap, “Don’t worry we will help her so she never does leave you or your brother.”

Some warriors came over and carefully lifted my mate, each time that the little girl in my arms whimpered I growled at the warriors; I rose to my feet turning to the boy, “Well you coming?”

He simply nodded before running up to me and get a firm hold of my belt lop before we followed my father and the warriors to the pack house.

We walked out of the woods the pups looked scared seeing so many wolves, I felt the boy move closer the same time the girl dug her head into my neck as I walked to the hospital ward of the house. We entered right as the doctor pulled out the arrow causing the girl to whimper and begin to thrash around; the boy let go of my belt loop to jump at the doctor shifting mid-air, I was surprised that a pup this young could shift without immense pain. The doctor was trying to stop the boy from biting him, before I could reach over to capture the boy two arms reached over and circled him as he continued to struggle, I looked at the owner of the arms to see my mate sitting up holding back her son. “Michel calm down, he didn’t hurt me he just pulled out the arrow.”

I watched as Michel slowly calmed down to shift back, my mate pulled her blanket around him as he clutched her shirt and began to cry, my mate looked at me and I saw that she was holding back from crying in pain but she still smiled at me, I walked over and sat the girl down on the bed beside her mother. The girl laid on her brother with her mother’s arm around her, I watched as both slowly fell asleep. I watched as the doctor came over, “Miss we are going to have to move them.”

“They’re fine, after you pulled out the arrow my wound healed.”

“No wound can heal that fast, and you were even hit by a silver arrow.”

“Okay how about you live in on your own for five years, taking care of pups, and being attacked everywhere you go your body tends to pick up on something’s.”

The doctor looked at her with shock before stalking off, I quietly chuckled, my mate looked at me as I laughed she smiled at me, “Can we leave I don’t like hospitals.”

I nodded as I took the girl from her arms, my mate zoned her eyes on the girl as she squirmed before settling back into sleep, my mate looked shocked. I took them to my room I laid the girl on the bed before turning to my closet, rummaging around I found a shirt from many years ago that wouldn’t be that big on the boy. I walked out taking the boy from my mate before sitting on my bed and slipping the shirt over his head and laying him beside his sister and tucking them both in. “You don’t have to show kindness to them or me just because I’m your mate.”

<Rose Prov>

I watched as my mate turned towards me, “It doesn’t matter that you’re my mate I would still show at least some kindness most packs aren’t that heartless to turn away a wounded she-wolf especially one with pups.”

I was shocked by what he said but happy, I smiled at him, “I think that we should introduce ourselves, my name is Rozen but I also go by Rose.”
