Ana

- Alarm goes off, 6:00 am -

I slowly wake up and turn over to my bedside table turning off the beeping noise coming from my phone. I lay back onto the bed for a second, stretching my arms up with a little groan. Once I finish stretching, I search my bed for the book I fell asleep to last night. When I find it, I put it on my bedside table and stand from my bed. I place my glasses onto my face and walk into the bathroom. After I finish my business I make my way down the stairs.

"Morning mom." I say to her.

"Good morning, sweetie." She smiles. "How did you sleep?" She asks.

"I slept well, thank you. You?"

"It was fine. Your father was snoring all night." She laughs, placing a small plate of toast in front of me with a glass of water.

"Thank you." I laugh a little. There are some nights that my father snores abnormally loud.

"What classes do you have today?" She asks me.

"I have," I pause to think. "Chemistry, math, english, and gym." I answer before taking a bite of my toast.

"Okay. Your father and I will be home late. Dad is taking me to dinner. Will you be okay on your own tonight?" She questions.

"Yeah, I will be just fine! Have fun!" I finish my toast. "I am going to finish getting ready. I'll be down in a little bit." I state.

"Okay, honey."

I put my dishes in the sink and go up to my bedroom. I pull out my outfit for the day that consists of light wash jeans, socks and a warm grey winter sweater. It's the first week of February so it is about thirty degrees. I don't mind the cold actually, I like it a lot. Winter is arguably the most beautiful season.

Once I am dressed, I walk into the bathroom and brush out my straight hair. I decided to leave it down for the day, but put a pony tale in my back pocket for gym class later. After I am all ready, I grab my book bag and make my way down stairs. When I reach the bottom step, my dog Buddy greets me.

"Hey Bud." I say, patting his head. I walk to the door and put on my coat, hat, and my knee high boots. "Okay mom. I will text you when I get there." I wave.

"Bye honey! Have a great day!" She waves with a warm smile.

As soon as I step out the door, the frozen air whips against my skin until I get into my car. I drive out of the driveway and get onto the road. Everyday before I go to school, I stop at the local library to help out with the librarian, Harriet. I never miss a day. When I go I help Harriet with shelving the books, and help her with the database.

After a couple of minutes, I pull into the driveway and get out of my car putting my keys into my pocket. I walk through the door. "Hey Harriet. Good morning!" I say walking over to her.

"Anastasia! Good morning!" She pulls me into a hug. "How are you this morning?" She asks.

"I am good. How are you?" I ask back.

"I am very well." She states.

"Good." I smile. I pull out my phone and text my mother before getting to work on the piles of books.

- Half an hour later -

"Harriet, I have to go now." I smile while putting on my coat.

"Bye bye darling." She gives me a hug and I am out the door. About ten minutes later I arrive at school and park my car. I get to my locker and am in my first class room.
