Inaccurate CPR but meh who cares -_- It’s for ✨Drama✨800+
Zak POV
“Coommmee on Vurb! Let’s go! You are so slow.” I shouted at my friend as I leaned against the open door frame.
Vurb came sprinting around the corner and into the living room with a towel draped over his shoulder.
I rolled my eyes and got in the car. We drove to the hiking spot and hopped out. We hiked up to the waterfall and I hopped in the water. Quickly followed by Vurb.
We splashed each other in the water for a while before Vurb got cold and climbed out of the water.
I continued to swim around in the water for a bit. Suddenly I heard a crack and looked up in pure panic to see a small branch headed straight for my head.
I screamed and tried to move away but my legs wouldn't move.
Then the world faded black.
Darryl POV
A scream tore me from my thoughts and I bolted upright just in time to see a boy collapse in the middle of the pond.
The boy crumpled and sunk below the semi deep waters.
"Zak? Zak!" Cried a man who I assumed was his friend. He had an accent that I presumed to be british.
I leapt up and into the water. Wading my way to the spot the boy had fallen.
I dove underwater and retrieved the limp body of the boy.
I carried him bridal style to shore and laid him on the rocks. My mind flashed back to the first aid class I had taken in high school and I examined him for wounds. Especially on his head. Thankfully he seemed completely fine other than a bruise. Well, not counting the fact that he was not breathing.
“Run until you get service and call 911. I’ll stay here with him. Go! Now!” I shouted to his friend. The guy nodded and snatched his phone off his towel and sprinted out of sight.
I began chest compressions. I checked for breathing again, Still not breathing. Holy Muffins
I continued the chest compressions, periodically checking for breathing but never stopping for more than 5 seconds.
And finally, when I leaned down to check for breathing, I felt very faint and shallow breaths. I almost cried out in relief. Even though I didn’t know who the muffin he was, in the brief moments I had performed CPR, I had become quite attached to him.
The friend came jogging back and spotted me stopped and assumed the worst. “Is he dead?! Oh god please no.”
“No he’s breathing!” I grinned drowsily, already exhausted.
The friend sighed in relief. “Oh thank god. Thank you so much! I can’t even express how thankful I am. And the police will be here any moment.”
“Oh thank muffins.” I remained by his side. An ambulance arrived and I climbed in with the boy and his friend. The paramedics tried to shoo us out but we refused to go anywhere without the boy. I wasn’t about to watch him die after I had tried so hard to keep him alive.
We arrived at the hospital and his friend and I were forced to sit in the waiting room.
I learned that the friend's name was Vurb and he was online friends with Zak, who was the boy I had saved. He explained that he had come to meet up with Zak and Zak decided they would go to this waterfall spot that he liked to hike to sometimes. And that’s what they had been doing, then this happened.
We talked for a couple hours, trying to distract each other from the fact that Zak could be dying.
The police also came by at one point to interview us about what happened.
A while passed and a nurse walked over to us. Are you relatives of Zak?
Vurb shook his head. “No I’m his friend visiting from the UK, his family lives a couple hours away and they were called about an hour ago.”
The woman looked at me, “And are you his boyfriend or something?”
My face flushed, “N- nO!”
Vurb raised his eyebrows at me and winked. I rolled my eyes at him as if to say, ‘Oh shut up’ “No this is the guy that saved his life. He’s worried about him.”
“Ahh okay. Well I’m glad to assure you he’s fine and can see you guys now.” The nurse smiled and gestured for us to follow her.
She stopped in front of a room and ushered us in. And shut the door behind her.
I stood awkwardly in the corner as Vurb and Zak reunited.
After a moment, Zak seemed to notice me. “Who is he?”
“This is the guy that saved your life, he was worried about you and stayed to make sure you were okay.” Vurb smiled.
Zak’s eyes widened. “Oh…! Well, thank you! I… Thank you”
I nodded and rubbed the back of my neck. “Really It’s nothing, I’m just glad you’re okay.”
Zak grinned. “Well anyways, you seem chill, can I have your number?”
I was slightly taken aback by his boldness but I laughed. “Of course.”
And I left that hospital hours later, glad knowing I had a new friend.
