Heart beats fast

Darryl scanned the crowded airport for his best friend, his eyes landed on the younger boy with mocha eyes and raven black hair. Darryls heart sped up upon seeing him and walked agonizingly slow toward him. But he didn't want to seem desperate.

Zak turned around and spotted Darryl, his bright green eyes trained on him. Zak grinned, his heart matching his racing footsteps.

Zak leapt at Darryl, Darryl dropped his suitcase to catch Zak. Both their hearts filled with elation upon meeting their best friend for the first time.

1 Week later

Colors and Promises

Zak's heart fell as he watched his best friend walk toward the plane. He couldn't just stand there and watch him walk away.

Zak sprinted forward and grabbed Daryl's hand to stop him. "Wait! Darry, promise... Promise me you'll be back?"

"I promise." Darryl smiled and gave Zak a hug before leaving for the plane.

2 days later

How to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall

Darryl's face flushed.

No... Not again... Not after it ended so badly last time

Darryl's thoughts flashed back to his prior relationship, and how badly it had ended. He didn't want to love again. Not when it could end like that.

2 months later

But watching you stand alone, All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow

Darryl grinned as he watched his new roommate sprint around the apartment excitedly, finally stopping to survey the space.

Darryl's heart fluttered. And this time? He embraced it.

One step closer

Darryl walked forward. Zak turned to him, puzzled, then Darryl hugged him.

"I have died everyday waiting for you." Darryl smiled softly into the embrace. "Zak I think I love you."

Zak stood stunned. Darryl mistook the silence as a rejection and frowned. "Oh my goodness I've made a mistake. I'm sorry... I'll leave"

Darryl turned to leave but Zak stopped him. "Darling don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more."

Darryl stopped for a moment, but only for a moment, before turning and attacking Zak with a hug.

Several years later

Time stands still, Beauty in all she is.

Darryl's heart pounded as he danced with Zak. Their dance under the stars seemingly caught in time. Every moment of it something he would never forget.

Darryl admired Zak, with his fluffy raven hair and excited brown eyes. A playful smile having a permanent resting place on his face.

I will be brave, I will not let anything take away what's standing in front of me

Darryl leaned in, taking his opportunity, and pulling Zak into a kiss. Darryl remaining hyper aware of the small velvet covered box in his pocket.

Every breath, every hour has come to this

Darryl pulled back and took a deep breath. Now was the time.

One step closer

Darryl took a step forward and knelt down on one knee, retrieving the box from his pocket and holding it out in front of him.

"I have died everyday waiting for you. Darling don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more." Darryl opened the box with a ring inside.

Zak had tears in his eyes and finished the line, "And all along I believed I would find you"

"Is that a yes?" Darryl's heart was beating out of his chest.

"Yes you idiot." Zak could barely contain his excitement.

Time has brought your heart to me, I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more.

Five months later

Darryl waited anxiously up on the stand as the music played. The big wooden doors opened to reveal Zak. Looking stunning in his white and blue suit adorned with jewels. His father slowly leading him down the aisle.

One step closer  Zak thought as he approached closer and closer to his soon to be husband.

One step closer...

"I have died everyday waiting for you, Darling don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more." Darryl squeezed Zak's hand.

Zak wanted so badly to kiss him but couldn't. "And all along I believed I would find you. Time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you for a thousand more."

...

"You may now kiss your husband."

Zak couldn't hold back anymore. He leapt forward into Darryl's arms, pulling Darryl into a passionate kiss. Refusing to pull back until he absolutely had to to breathe.

Nothing could make either of them happier than they were now.

New style of writing! More midnight inspiration but then I got caught so I've been writing this all day. And I promise I will stop procrastinating and actually write the requested oneshots next!
