Harvey's pov:

I was still worrying about Piper, I hoped she was okay, it'd been a few hours since I'd walked her home and I felt like I needed to know she was okay. I sent her a text

Hey, you okay? x

Yeah, I'm fine x

You sure? x

Yeah, I'm fine x

Did you talk to your parents? x

Ye, I did x

What did they say? x

Nothing much x

I know that's not true x

I'm not lying x

You want to come over? x

Sure, I'll be there in 15 x

And I waited for her to come over to mine, fifteen minutes later I heard a knock on the house door, I walked down the stairs to see Tilly had already opened the door.

"Hi, Piper, you here to see Harvey?"

"Hi Tilly and yes I am,"

I walked towards the door and said, "Hi Piper,"

"Hi, Harvey,"

"You don't need to the knock on the door next time, just come in," she came and walked in and we went up to my bedroom and I shut the door behind me.

"So what did your parents say?" I asked her as we sat down on my bed.

"Nothing really,"

"I don't believe that! Did you even tell them?"

"Yes, Harvey I did,"

"Just tell me what they said then,"

"I...I don't want to talk about it,"

"Oh, okay," I decided not to pry anymore, she'd tell me if she wanted to.

"So what should we do?" I asked.

"I don't know,"

"Umm...let's just play some video games,"

"Okay sure."

We played video games for a few hours, both of us as good or as  bad as the other. When we stopped playing, we both fell back and laid on my bed.

"Harvey?" I could sense a little nervousness in Piper's tone.

"Yeah?"

"Can I tell you something?"

"Sure, what's it about?"

"My umm parents,"

"Okay, go on,"

"Well when I spoke to them...they thought it was best if they weren't together anymore and umm, now they're divorced," I noticed a tear slide down the right side of her face.

"It's okay to cry, you know,"

"I don't cry in front of people," she said wiping away the tear.

"So are you living with your mum or dad?"

"My mum,"

"And how do you feel about that?"

"Honestly, rain-boy, I don't know, I really don't know,"

"You'll be okay, rain-girl,"

"But will I though?"

"Yes you will,"

"You don't know that for definite,"

"I do, you're a really brave and strong person and I know you'll be okay, just give it time, you've got me anyways, I make life so much better,"

"Hmm, really?"

"Oi," I acted offended and we both laughed a little.

"Let's go to the park," I suggested and me and Piper left to go to the park.

Once we got there, we noticed how empty it was, probably because of the fact that it was going to rain soon.

"There's no-one here," Piper said.

"Really?! I didn't notice that,"

"Just shush, rain-boy," and I laughed.

We walked through the park and, as the rain started to pitter-patter lightly, we made our way into the forest, full of leafless trees.

"Rain-boy?"

"Hmm?"

"Thank you,"

"For what?"

"For being my best friend, Harvey, without you, I don't how I'd be, we've not known each other for long but you mean a lot to me, more than anyone ever has and ever will,"

"And since when did you compliment others,"

"Not others, just you,"

"Ahh, okay so I'm like someone special to you?"

"Not really,"

"Oi,"

"I'm joking, you're my favourite person in the world,"

"And you're mine,"

"Yeah right,"

"Don't doubt yourself, you're amazing,"

"Why'd you always compliment me?"

"Because you deserve to be complimented,"

"Oh," she said and was quiet.

Whilst we were walking back, the rain started to pour down a little heavier and I could see the smile on Piper's face. The rain seemed to  make her really happy, but I wished I could make her happy like the rain did.

When we got to her house, I told her,

"I hope everything will be okay for you,"

"It will be, like you said, I've got you,"

"Okay, you complimenting me is just getting really weird,"

"Not as weird as you,"

"Oi, don't be mean," we both laughed.

"Bye rain-girl,"

"Bye rain-boy," and with that said, she walked into her house, dripping wet from the rain.

The rain.

The rain made her really happy but there was feeling inside me, a feeling that I wanted to make her happy, just as a best friend, I thought then.
