Harvey's pov:
It'd been a week and my feelings for Piper were growing stronger, little by little every day, 'm pretty sure she didn't realise or else things between us would have been awkward.
She was feeling a lot better about her parents' divorce, she seemed a lot more cheery and there'd been a lot of rain this past week, cheering us both up.
Today was a Saturday and Piper and I had planned to go to the coffee shop near her house, then we were going to meet up with the boys at a trampoline park. It was 1pm so I decided to get changed and head to her house. I wore a supreme hoodie with some grey joggers, I put on my trainers and left the house to go to Piper's. Piper took a lot of time to get ready, I guess all girls do.
Once I arrived at Piper's house, I walked in, said a quick 'hello' to her mum and went upstairs to Piper's room.
I knocked on the door and went in once I'd gotten a 'come in'. I saw Piper straightening her hair and said: "You take forever to get ready,"
"No I don't, you came early,"
"At least not late,"
"Whatever," she said and finished straightening her hair, she then tied half of it up.
"Now we can go,"
"Yes," we left her house and walked to the coffee shop, five minutes away from her house.
When we got there, we sat down at the table in the corner and ordered coffee. Piper always got an iced coffee and I got black coffee.
"You know the school's football team are holding try-out sessions for this season?"
"And...?"
"And think you should try out,"
"No way, just nope,"
"Why not?"
"I'm over football,"
"But you have such good talent,"
"Whatever, I don't want to do it,"
"But I know you'll get on the team,"
"Harvey I don't want to do it,"
"I know you want to do it,"
"Why'd you think that?"
"I can read you like a book,"
"Excuse me, I'm the one who reads books," she smiled.
"I read with you now too,"
"Please try-out for the team,""Harvey..."
"Piper...." I mocked her.
"I'm just scared in case I mess up or something,"
"You won't,"
"You don't know that,"
"I do,"
"How?"
"Because I'll be there with you, watching you,"
"Oh no, you'll see me make a fool of myself too,"
"You have to stop doubting yourself,"
"Come on, you'll get onto the team straight away,""Okay, I'll do it,"
"Really?"
"Yes, I know I'll be bad but if it shuts you up...."
"I know you wouldn't mind listening to my voice all day,"
"Not really, rain-boy, I'd rather listen to a cat dying,"
"Oi," me and Piper both laughed.
We were quiet for a while and I couldn't help but stare at Piper, her beautiful features made my heart melt.
I realised she'd been quiet for a little too long and asked her, "What you thinking about?"
"How I'll have to train if I'm going to get on the team,"
"You'll get on the team without training but I'll help if you want,"
"You will?"
"Yes, my place tomorrow,"
"Yes coach," she laughed and so did I- damn this girl.
We left the coffee shop and started making our way to the trampoline park when Piper asked me,"Harvey, do you think I'll get on the team?"
"No, I know you will,"
"But-"
"No buts, just stop doubting yourself you'll be awesome,"
"I know but still...."
"How about we make a bet?"
"Umm...sure,"
"If I don't make it onto the team, you have to take me shopping!""Okay, but if you make the team, you have to go on a date with me,"
"A date?" It killed me at the fact she didn't want to go on a date with me.
"Yes, a date,"
"You know that makes me want to do bad by purpose," she didn't really want to go on a date with me-oh.
"No, you can't do that!"
"I won't,"
"It won't be that bad to go on a date with me,"
"If I make the team that is,"
"I know you will."
