Piper's pov:

It'd been a week since I realised I might be starting to like Harvey- as in like-like. I knew he didn't like me back but everything about him was so perfect, he was flawless, on the outside and the inside. He made me feel so much better about myself and was one of the very few people who actually cared about me, I was super grateful for him but I knew he didn't like me back, he was just my best friend.

I had been training for 5 days and today, Friday, was the day of the try-outs, I was super scared but Harvey told me not to worry.

The school day ended and I made my way to the changing rooms, got changed and walked to the gym, listening to how the try-outs were going to work. Once the coach told us everything, we were put into two groups of 11, there was 22 of us, and we started the match.

As we had to try different positions, I was first placed into the goal, I saved a couple of goals, then defence, I wasn't too bad in defence, then I was put up front, I didn't score a goal but I helped assist.

In the end my team ended up winning.

"I'll judge your performance over the week-end and tell you whether you're on the team on Monday, at lunch, here in the gym,"

"Yes, coach," and everyone left.

I made my way out of school to see Harvey waiting for me, "How'd it go?"

"Okay, I guess,"

"Really? I'm sure you did amazing," he complimented me once again causing my heart to flutter.

Once we got to my house I asked him if he wanted to come in, "Sure," he said and we made our way up to my bedroom.

I got in the shower whilst Harvey waited in my bedroom.

When I came out of the shower into my bedroom, I saw Harvey lying on my bed, on his phone. I dried my hair and tied it up. Harvey was still on his phone.

"So rain-boy," I sat next to him, "What should we do?"

"Hmm," he looked up from his phone, "Let's...go to mine, I have to some drum covers for tiktok anyways,"

"Okay," I slid my feet into my trainers and we left to go to Harvey's house.

As we walked into his house, Tilly ran to us and hugged us both, "Hi Harvey, Hi Piper,"

"Hi Tilly," I smiled at the cute little girl.

Harvey and I made our way up to his bedroom and he sat down, set up his phone and started playing the drums to a few different songs, he was really talented on the drums.

"Which one's your favourite?" He asked me after an hour of drumming to multiple songs. He showed me the recordings of all of the ones he did.

"The first and second one," I told him.

"Okay, I'll post them first," he said and posted one them on tiktok.

"Let'a write another chapter on our story,"

"Okay sure," we spent round about an hour writing another chapter, we didn't know what to call it yet but we still wrote, there were a lot of Max and Harvey fanfictions on Wattpad, a lot of smut ones too.

"This is one long chapter," Harvey said realising we'd wrote over two thousand words on the chapter.

"You know what we should do now?"

"What?"

"We should watch the Lorax...again,"

"I'm not bothered so sure," we both laid on his bed and watched the Lorax- Harvey's favourite movie- again.

Throughout the film, I couldn't help but stare at Harvey, the way he smirked when he found something a little funny and when he did laugh- oh his cute laugh. Wait! I shouldn't be falling for my best friend but was I really falling for Harvey or was just a little crush, my feelings for Harvey were getting stronger by the second, maybe I really was falling for him and that shit scared me.

"I never get tired of watching that,"

"I can tell," I laughed.

"Harvey?" I asked, both of us still laid on his bed.

"Yeah?"

"Say if there was a girl..."

"Yeah, okay,"

"And she had a best friend, who was a boy,"

"Yeah,"

"And she had been friends with him for quite some while and she started noticing things she never had before,"

"And those things are..?"

"Noticing his smile, finding his laugh cute, liking the way he uses his hands to comb through his hair,"

"Yeah,"

"What should that girl do?"

"Depends who's the girl,"

"Just a character from a book I haven't finished reading,"

"Well erm, the best thing to do, in my opinion would be to tell the boy how she feels about him and see what happens,"

"But what if the girl was scared of being rejected,"

"Even if he doesn't like her, they're best friends, they should be okay,"

"The book is pretty confusing,"

"Can I read the book?"

"Once I've finished it,"

"Okay," I hoped Harvey hadn't realised I'm not talking about myself and him, that would make things so awkward.

But maybe I should do what he said, confess my feelings for him, to him, like he said he's my best friend, he wouldn't let that get between us, right?

But what if it does? And he hates me?

Ugh! I hate feelings!

"What you thinking about?" Harvey asked me, snapping me out of the argument with myself.

"Nothing,"

"Come on, I know you're thinking about something,"

"Just my dad," I lied to Harvey.

"Have you spoken to him recently?"

"No, he hasn't tried, so why should I?"

"You should, what's the worst that could happen?" Maybe I should call my dad, ugh why does Harvey always have to be right? It makes me fall for him even more.

"You seem a little confused,"

"I guess so,"

"About what?"

"Nothing important,"

"Okay,"

"I should be going home it's starting to get dark now,"

"Okay, I'll walk you home," Harvey offered and we left his house to go mine.

Once we got to my place Harvey hugged me, I was a little shocked but hugged back, his arms around me felt so right, but it was just as friends.

"What was that for?"

"I can hug my best friend if I want,"

"I didn't say you couldn't,"

"Anyways, bye rain-girl,"

"Bye rain-boy," I walked into my house and went up to my bedroom, got changed and went straight to bed. That night I dreamt of Harvey.

Little did I know that soon my dreams would come true maybe some nightmares too...
