Third Person POV
Meanwhile, back at the academy, Raine kept running after Nora, however, she was quickly caught by Fed who held her arm in his hand.
"There's no point in running, Raine. You'll never catch up to her," he said, pulling her back to the academy. Raine yanked her arm out of his grip, turning her head to face him.
"Well, I'm not going to just leave her out there!" she snapped.
"We can't just run after her and hope we'll get her back. We have to come up with a plan. That's the only way we will get Nora back, okay?" Fed tried to explain, once again placing his hand on the young girl's arm this time more gently to reassure the girl rather than command her.
"He's right, Raine," Charlie said, stepping over to the pair, "we'll get her back, but we have to be smart. We can't rush into this without thinking."
Raine looked over to the boy. She could see that he was trying to hide the fear and pain in his eyes, but she trusted him. She knew he cared for Nora, more than Nora knew herself, so she felt herself trusting him, understanding that he had her best interests at heart. Raine nodded her head in acknowledgment before she walked back inside knowing that coming up with a plan was the best way to get her sister back. As she stepped back into the building, Raine could hear the worried and fretful voices of her friends.
"Does anyone have any idea of where he could be taking her? Anything will help!" Ashleigh shouted, begging that someone could help as he stood at the center of the mayhem, scanning the group of frightened kids. Raine looked over the faces of her friends around her, all of them portraying the same lost and disturbed look. Suddenly, her eyes lit up when an idea sprang into her mind.
"Her watch!" she exclaimed. "Her watch has a GPS on it!"
"We don't have any phones though, how would we track her?" Matt asked, looking back to Raine who felt a pang of discouragement.
"You mean, we didn't have any phones," Sam said mischievously. He carefully picked up the phone that was resting on Hendrix's lifeless body. Vee quickly ran over to Sam, snatching the phone from the boy's hand.
"Hey! I found it!" Sam whined, reaching for the phone again but Vee ignored him and walked over to where Raine and Ashleigh were watching him eagerly. Everyone waited for Vee to say whether they could use it or not. He had been the only coach that studied anything related to technology in college, so they watched intently as he tried to turn on the phone. Looking up from the phone and back into the crowd he raised his eyebrows at Raine.
"I can work with this," he said. Raine sighed in relief. As Vee began to fumble around on the phone trying to find the exact GPS location of Nora from her watch, Raine followed Ashleigh back outside where he stopped in front of the vans.
"This one's flat," Charlie said, crouching behind Ashleigh and running his hand over the slashes in the tire of the first van.
"Same as this one," Matt shouted back to the group as he eyed the deflated tire of the second van. Raine felt a weight drop in the pit of her stomach. She was about to give up right there until she heard Mary speak up.
"Guys, I think this one is good," she called as she paused to take another look at the van, "unless he did something that I can't see, but it looks fine from here!"
The others ran over to where Mary stood behind the van to confirm that no tires had been popped or slashed. Matt grabbed the keys from the dash and plugged them in before starting the car. Everyone's heart skipped a beat when they heard the familiar sound of the engine starting up. Matt looked back at Ashleigh who was standing next to him by the door of the driver's seat.
