My fluttered open as I slowly started to wake up. I carefully turned my head up to see Charlie fast asleep next to me. Right. That happened. Huh.
I looked around the tent to see some empty beds. The younger kids must already be awake. I slipped out of the bed as quietly as possible, but almost made a noise when I saw Dylan and Thomas sleeping next to each other. They were almost cuddling. How cute. I endorse this bromance. I walked over where we had left our duffel bags, but nothing was there. Uhhh. Where are the bags? I need clothes.
I decided I would try to find Raine or Fed so I left the tent to search for them. I immediately spotted Raine and everyone else who was awake on one of the picnic tables outside eating what looked like breakfast.
"Hey! Nora! You're awake," Sam hollered when he spotted me.
"Yeah I just woke up like a second ago," I said and plopped down on the bench next to him. "Where did all of our bags go?"
"Oh, they tossed them and told us that they'd give us new clothes," Raine answered. I was about to open my mouth to ask another question when Raine continued. "Don't worry I got your necklace. I looked through all the bags to make sure we didn't leave anything important." She handed me the necklace and I let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank you, Raine."
"What would you do without me," Raine said sarcastically.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Well for starters I'd be able to wear all my clothes without you stealing them-" I began but was cut off.
"Okay, okay, I get it," Raine laughed, running a hand through her blonde hair. I smiled.
"Are the rest still sleeping?" Fed asked as he bit into a piece of bacon.
I nodded. "Yeah. Dylan and Thomas were almost cuddling," I grinned. Sam let out a snicker beside me, as did Raine. Raine had made a plate for me, knowing that I would be up soon. She also put a tall water bottle in front of me which I thanked her repeatedly for considering the moderate headache I had. After eating some strawberries and bacon, I went back to the tent to grab my jacket. As I opened the tarp, I saw Dylan awake and standing over the empty area where the bags were supposed to be with a puzzled look.
"They threw them away," I whispered, which made Dylan turn around to face me. "They're giving us new clothes and stuff. Jack went through your bag and pulled out anything important that he thought you wouldn't want thrown away."
Dylan nodded his head and we stood in silence for a minute before he walked over to the nightstand next to his bed. He walked back over to me and handed me two pills that looked like Advil.
"For the headache," he said and popped two into his mouth. I gratefully accepted it and did the same, swallowing them quickly.
"C'mon, let's get out of here. I don't want to wake them up," I whispered, pointing towards the door and he nodded.
"Well, I think it's safe to say I will be keeping my distance from anything with an ABV higher than ten percent," I said sarcastically to which Dylan gave me a half-hearted smile before turning back to look ahead of us. I furrowed my brow at his less than enthusiastic response.
"You okay? Is there something wrong?" I asked, but Dylan shook his head, pushing his hair off of his forehead.
"No, just hungover," he said. I wanted to suspect that there was something else bothering him, but I've never met hungover Dylan before, so I let it go.
"Yeah me too. I've never been hungover before, but I don't think I ever want to experience it again," I laughed. Dylan smiled and looked over to where his brother was talking with Raine and Sam.
