"Just wake them up."
"I don't want Nora to yell at me!"
"She's your sister, what does it matter?"
"Exactly! So she'll feel comfortable killing me!"
I slowly opened my eyes to the sunlight that poured in through the windows scattered around the room. When I saw Jack and Raine standing at the edge of the bed I groaned and rolled over, shoving my face into the pillow.
"Go away," I mumbled into the pillow, hoping that I could chase the sleep back. I was sleeping so well. Why did they have to ruin it?
"Nora, you should wake up now," Raine sang, trying to hurriedly get me up and out of bed.
"No, just leave me alone. I'll get up later." My voice came out muffled due to my face being pressed into the pillow as I refused to budge.
"Alright, you asked for it."
I felt someone shake my body aggressively which chased away my sleep for good. Turning to the side, I swatted away the hands that shook my arm and looked up at Raine annoyed.
"What?" I huffed frustratedly as Raine smirked and pointed behind me. Shaking my head in confusion, I rubbed my eyes and followed where Raine's finger was pointing to find Dylan slowly blinking awake next to me. My eyes widened before I remembered that we only had one bed last night and I agreed to share it with him so that we could both rest. I turned back around to face Raine who, if it was possible, had an even bigger smirk on now.
"Why good morning, lovebirds. Did ya sleep okay?" she teased, wiggling her eyebrows as I started to climb out of the bed.
"Well someone and their boyfriend kind of used up the only other bed," I shot back.
"Yeah, sorry about that," Jack said, tossing his arm around Raine's shoulder which made me smirk and Raine shoot me death glares.
"We didn't want to make you angry, but you guys should probably get up anyway," Sam called out from the doorway, kicking the side of the bed to try to get us to get up.
"Okay, okay, we're getting up," Dylan whined, his tired voice was deeper than usual and more gravelly. The three younger kids, finally satisfied, ran out of the room. Probably to go eat some food or pester someone else. I ran a hand through my hair and sat on the side of the bed, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
"You okay?" Dylan asked as he sat up on the other side of the bed. I nodded and stretched my arms as I walked over to the duffel bag I shared with Raine that had all of our clothes. "Thanks for doing that last night. You didn't have to, but it was much better than sleeping on the floor."
"Yeah, of course. It's no big deal. Anyone else would have done the same," I said, starting to rummage through my bag to find a clean shirt. Where is it?
"Yeah, I guess so. Thanks anyways though."
"Mhm."
Seriously? Aha!I stood up from the bag triumphantly, holding a clean shirt in one hand - one of my last ones - and a pair of pants in the other. I turned around to walk to the door and head to the bathroom. I quickly changed into clean clothes which consisted of a dark green tank top and dark cargo pants and wrapped a spare piece of fabric around the healing wound on my arm. It didn't hurt much anymore but it was best to keep it wrapped up so I didn't accidentally worsen the injury. After I left the bathroom and dropped the clothes in my duffel bag, I headed to where Charlie, Fed, and Raine were gathered around the crate in the middle of the main room.
"Good morning," Fed said, with a smile. God, does he know? Raine better have kept her mouth shut. Wait, but if he knew then Dylan would be pretty much dead at this point. I think we're good. I nodded back, returning the smile, and leaned against the makeshift table so I could rest my forearms on the countertop.
