Timing

Chapter 5

I get to my hotel and the driver doesn't have to tell me a thing and waits for me outside. I practically run upstairs and get to my room panting as I slam the door behind me. 

"Hey" I hear my cousin say as he removes the headphones he wore

"Hi" I say "you're going to need to be ready in 10 minutes!" I say making my way to my suitcase throwing around what little clothes I had brought with me

"Why?"

"It's a long story"

I start to talk about yesterday, today and he doesn't seem fazed by anything I'm saying until I start talking about fate and how he wanted me to stay spend more time with him. I'm trying to talk and get ready at the same time and somehow convince my cousin to go with me, deep down I bet he thought I was crazy or making this all up. I end up putting on white jeans, a maroon top and gold wedges. What does one even wear to a Broadway show? By the time I'm ready I notice its 5:30, past the time I was supposed to arrive. My cousin wore some jeans, dress shirt and shoes and once I fixed his hair we were off. We jumped in the back seat and my cousin seemed confused.

"Where are we going?"

"Down the street..." then it hits me "wait we could just walk"

I try to get out but then the driver starts to drive and says:

"Mr. Jonas wants you to arrive in a vehicle not on foot"

"Oh" I say

We make a circle around the block until we end up in front of the theatre. Another SUV had arrived before us so had to wait to get off, then as I looked out the tinted window I saw a familiar sight. This was where I saw Nick the second time, the barricades and fans seemed unchanged. Flashes and screams begin and I'm not surprised to see that Nick had just arrived. The vehicle moves forward and I notice we're getting dropped off in the same place, the doors unlock and I can see Nick signing pictures and trying to pose for pictures in a hurry, I guess he was late.

"Get out already" I hear my cousin say

Before I could open the door myself a familiar face does so. Ryan was there offering me his hand to get off, I took it and thank him as girls take pictures of me. I was nobody famous so as I hear the door slam my cousin and I walk forward and that's when Nick notices me. He automatically smiles and stops what he's doing and makes his way to the door where someone has it already open. He gives a last wave to the crowd and gestures me to follow him inside. Flashesdidn't faze me as I almost sprinted to that door and to Nick's side letting the door close and the screaming fade.

"Nice to see you again" I say

"Very nice" he says looking at me as if it was only the both of us "umm, I see your cousin did join you" he smiles extending his hand to Thaos.

"Oh yeah" I gasp

"Hi I'm Nick Jonas" he says formally

Thaos lets go of his hand and says "Thaos"

I roll my eyes, even with a famous person he acts arrogant. I know he'd rather be at a concert or shopping but he could at least be more courteous with the guy I like. Nick notices my mood change and puts his arm around me playfully.

"Curtain isn't till seven thirty" he starts to say while walking "I have to get ready for the first scene..."

"and I have to go" I hear my cousin say

"What? Why?" I say moving out of Nick's arm

"I'll give you two a second" says Nick walking over to a stage hand
