Monstercat: Origins (Part 1)

Chapter 2: Planet T27-c

After the car finally slowed down, Camon woke from his slumber. "We're here!" his mother shouted. He was excited for this new adventure, having a new home, going to a different school, even if it was without his father. He wondered what it was like on... he couldn't remember the name of the planet, but he was still curious. A guide, (who was an odd shade of green), offered to take their things and show them where the motel they were temporarily staying at was.
It was a very nice motel, and Camon had heard that a nice motel was rare. The bags were laid out on the floor and more were eventually brought in. Later that evening, his mother came home with new foods that came from this planet, and she found an online recipe and used it to make an extraordinary stew with some new kind of meat called volp. Apparently, the meat was from a bird, because she said she found it in the poultry aisle. Camon enjoyed the meal, even thought the volp was a little salty for his taste. That night, Camon decided to sleep on the couch, (the only other place was the pullout chair. Camon didn't like the way the couch felt, but his blankets helped fix that problem. That night, he had a dream that contained a strange image, (see media), with some odd cat creature that was black and had vicious teeth. He was wearing a headset and was floating through space seemingly. It was an intriguing image, and he kept it in his brain all the next day. In the morning, his mother made eggs from the same bird that the previous day's volp came from. Afterwards, his mother sat at the table looking through house magazines, and Camon eventually got bored. So, he requested that he color. All day he focused on recreating the dream he had, and when he was finished it actually looked pretty close to what he remembered. He hung it up with a pin on the window frame. The same routine continued for the next few weeks, the two ate lunch and dinner, as well as a snack halfway through the day. His mother sat looking at magazines, until one day he spotted her happily talking about a house over the phone.That same night his mother announced they were finally going to move out of the motel and into a fancy house in the suburbs of a major city. They packed their bags and left the next day. The house was nice, it had a much comfier place to sleep, and he got his own room. He got settled in and he rehung his picture near the window. His new room was perfect in his eyes. It was less than a week later when Camon went back to school. He learned a lot the first few weeks, he now knew that the bird he was so curious about is called a yuyu bird, with a heavier meat than chicken but just as delicious. He eventually got the name T27-c down, it took him a while though, and he always forgot the number. Camon had settled in and found some friends as well. All was fine on Planet T27-c, for now.
