Camon got up and dressed in all black, which seemed to be what his entire wardrobe was made up of. There was grinding metal all throughout the hotel. He ran to the huge window. Outside he saw the bridge filled completely to the brim with Mangles. He didn't think the hotel was any better. "Wait a minute", he said to himself, pulling out his orb to unlock the gear gate and bridge. He knew what to do. He snatched up The Creation of the Cult and ran for the window. Without his crystal, he was unsafe, but he knew he had to try. He glanced at the outskirts, purple lasers flying out of shop windows and... the library. That was his safe haven. He knew Ms. Raven would be waiting there, and she had a crystal. He slid the window open and stuck his foot out. There was a little roof outside the window and a water transport pipe. A loud bang came from Camon's door. He slid the window down and tiptoed onto the edge of the roof platform. He had a mildly clear shot from the bottom of the water pipe to the altar where he had to put the orb. He mounted the pipe and pushed off the hotel. For some reason the pipe was wet, it hadn't rained or anything. He slowly slid down the wet pipe, and noticed Archer, the cloaked figure from last night, on the upper platform of the city. He had Camon's pendant, and that was the most important object to him right now, other than his book. He hit the ground running, the hordes on the bridge noticed him and started making their move. However, it was too late. He sprinted to the altar and tossed his orb in. The bridge made a sound, and all of the pieces began to fall, starting on the outsides. There was only a few Mangles around him, but they were all lunging toward him. He backed up, pulling out his book. The first Mangle jumped towards him. He aimlessly swung his book, praying he would make contact. A loud metallic thunk came from the Mangle, he had hit it. The Mangle fell on the ground and whimpered. But, there was more where that came from. 3 more mangles dashed towards him, their twisted jaws open and drooling some oily substance. The Mangle on the ground began to stand up, and in the process tripped the other 3 off a cliff. He sprinted towards the fallen Mangle and kicked it off to join it's friends in the abyss. In the meantime, the bridge had completely fallen. He took out and reinserted the orb in the altar, and a Mangle-free bridge rose from the abyss. He pulled out the orb and began to cross the bridge. As he neared the city, he saw the corpses of fallen Mangles, and saw Archer standing on a balcony, aiming his bow at... his window? He let the arrow loose, and it flew all the way over the abyss. It hit the roof platform under Camon's window. He realized that there was a string attached to the arrow, and that Archer was tying the other end to a balcony post. Archer took his bow and placed it on the string. Then he jumped off the balcony and used his bow to slide across the abyss. Camon noticed a purple object get caught on the balcony and rip from Archer's belt. "My crystal", he whispered. He began sprinting down the bridge, watching Archer go down the line. Camon finally got into the city, the exact time Archer got to the roof. Camon ran to a vine arm and it slid around him to carry him up. As he was being carried, he saw Archer slide his window open. He hit the balcony in a full fledged run. He saw his crystal on the ground. As he got close to it, he noticed something yellow strapped to the line. It was another crystal, and as he got closer, it grew brighter. He stopped for a second and it died down. He took a step forward and it lit up and made a sound. Camon jumped back and a laser fired where he was. Now he understood what the crystal was. It was a crystal that fired at people. Which meant, if Archer was carrying it, then he wasn't a human. Camon noticed the purple crystal glowing and whipped around. A Mangle jumped at his face. He whipped out his book and ducked. Once the Mangle was over him, he hit it in the back of the head, sending it hurtling towards the yellow crystal. The Mangle fell on the line, and the yellow crystal bounced off the line, into the abyss. Camon grabbed his crystal and walked towards the line. At that moment, Archer came back through his window and saw Camon at the other end of the line. He ripped out his bow and mounted the line. He jumped and began to slide back over the abyss. Camon noticed a little glint of metal on the line. Part of the Mangle had broken off and gotten stuck on the line. He got closer to the line and his crystal lit up. He looked at Archer, getting closer and closer. He had two choices, kill or be killed. He inched closer to the line and more and more his crystal brightened. He held it out, and it let out its laser sound and fired. The laser cut the Mangle part and the line. Camon watched as the line fell, carrying Archer into the abyss below. He looked off the balcony, and a little fireball shot out of the abyss and blew up. "A firework", Camon thought out loud. He turned and started heading towards the library, hoping Miss Raven was fine.
