"Alright little fella, back to the Sanctuary for you," Savant said. Camon had read about the Sanctuary in The Creation of the Cult. He continued to stand hidden by the pillar. Savant walked out onto the balcony, and Camon froze. Savant then jumped off the balcony with the cat. Camon ran out from the pillar and peeked over the edge of the balcony. Surprisingly, the two weren't dead. They had landed on so much dead foliage that they didn't even have a scratch on them. They disappeared from his sight, heading to some extension at the bottom of the column. Camon jumped down as well, but he didn't trust the foliage enough. Fortunately, he had wings now. He landed at the bottom of the column in a pile of dead... everything. A sound came from a small hallway leading out from this section. Camon decided to walk through as well. He peeked around the corner to the most beautiful scene of his life. Savant stood in a small biodome with beautiful plants everywhere. "Ninür couldn't kill this part?" Savant said to himself, at least he thought he did. Camon was watching him from the entrance. Near the top of the dome was a loft with a few bookshelves. "The journals..." Camon whispered. On the bottom floor was a large machine that looked like it could only be built with the help of a robot. It had two large empty tanks on the sides. Savant placed the cat in one tank. "Now, what should be the other object for this test," he said. He turned to see a potted plant on a table. "Ah... perfect!" he shouted. Camon was starting to get worried. Savant placed the plant in the other tank and walked to the middle of the machine. He pulled a large lever, bringing the massive machine to life. The cat meowed again. "Don't worry precious feline, this will only hurt a little," Savant said in a dark tone. "How can he even do that, be nice while still being so evil," Camon thought. A large beam of light shot through each of the tanks. Once it dissipated, Camon saw the corpse of the cat and the potted plant dead. In the middle section, Savant was pulling out an orb. "Ahahah! It worked!" he yelled. The orb he was holding looked familiar to Camon. It was another soul. "Now," Savant said, "time to put you back." He put the soul back into the machine and pulled the lever up this time. Two more beams shot into the tanks. Once they faded out again, the cat was standing, but only half as tall as before, and the potted plant was... moving? Savant panicked. He ran over and smashed the potted plant, possibly destroying half of the soul. Savant walked over to the cat. "Well, all you are now is worthless filth, so I'll leave you down here to die while I try to figure out another solution," Savant said. Camon wasn't shocked that he would say something so cruel. Before Savant walked over, he went up to the loft with the small library. Camon took this opportunity to get inside and hide behind the machine. He watched from behind the tank with crushed pot and dirt inside as Savant left with one of the journals. Camon wondered how his father would even get out. He walked behind the machine to the tank with the small wounded cat. "A half-soul huh?" Camon whispered. He felt himself getting suddenly sleepy. As he stared at the cat, he slowly drifted into a deep sleep on the floor.
(Dream)
"Hello Camon. Fancy seeing you again," a female voice said from the dark of the empty room. Camon looked around, but everything looked really strange. His surroundings were green and everything seemed dark, but he could still see. He saw a girl walk in through the door. Not just any ordinary girl though, it was the demon Ninür. "Wondering how I got inside your noggin huh? Well, lets just say the more you die, the more vulnerable you are to my realm, the spirit realm," she said. Camon started getting worried. "Unfortunately, I can't physically damage you from in here, but as for the mental, I can do whatever I want," she screeched, smiling and showing those disgusting demon teeth. Camon saw her flicker out and disappear. "Lost me, haven't you?" she questioned from behind him. He whipped around to see her leaning over him, ready to pounce. He bolted out of the way and grabbed Stert. Ninür clicked her fingers and suddenly the bandana evaporated. "Haha... who said you were the one in control?" she said, her face twisting into a wicked grin. A music box played from somewhere behind him. A certainly malevolent tune, with high pitched sounds and creepy crackling. "I want to finish your soul!" she screeched. He turned to her, confused. "Finish?" he asked. "Don't you know Camon? You only have half a soul. Your father saved your sorry little life from my consumption. You got lucky, boy!" she replied. Camon sat in bewilderment. "Half... a soul?" he asked.
(Abrupt wake)
Camon shot up from behind the machine. The small, wimpy cat purred from inside the tank. "I only have... half of a soul?" he asked no one. He looked up to the loft library. Since the large library died with Zion, this was all Camon had to do research. He walked up a flight of spiral stairs. He browsed the shelves, and found an empty space. "This must be where my father got that journal," he said. Next to it was a journal labeled Half Souls. "How convenient," Camon said, pulling the book off the shelf. He opened to the first page and began reading.
