Dahyun was standing next to RM and a fidgety Jin near the entrance of the hall. They were supposed to greet their parents' and grandparents' colleagues—a task they've always been assigned to si ce they were kids—but Jin seemed on edge, like he was looking for someone.

"Hey, what's up with you?" RM asks him when the guests entering the engagement party venue started thinning out.

"What?" Jin just asks, as if he hasn't checked his phone and adjusted his tie a hundred times in the past ten minutes.

"You seem a bit nervous," Dahyun points out. "Did you invite a date? It's like you're expecting someone."

"I did invite someone," Jin answers, "but she's not my date."

"So it's a she?" Jin notices Dahyun's teasing tone. He was about to answer, but then, three more guests enter and he finds it the perfect opportunity to avert the attention from himself.

"Hoseok! Jimin! Good to see you again," he says as he claps the shorter guy's back. The two guys greet the cousins.

Dahyun immediately hooks her arm around the girl who came with Jimin and Hoseok. "Guys, this is Jihyo, Jimin's sister. She's also friends with Tzuyu," she introduces. "I'll show them to their table. Have fun greeting all the old people."

Without waiting for RM and Jin's response she gestures for Jimin and Hoseok to follow her and Jihyo, leaving the two cousins. She leads them to a table already set with placeholders. As they take their designated spots, she sits on the empty chair between Jimin and Jihyo. Based on the placeholder, it was assigned to someone named Mina—probably one of Tzuyu's NUS friends, Dahyun concluded. She'd go back to her 'duties' once Mina was here.

"Thank God you guys came. I swear if I had to shake one more hand and smile to people I barely know," Dahyun begins ranting.

Back at the entrance, Jin and RM were chatting with a distant uncle when another newly arrived guest catches Jin's eye. He casually excuses himself from the conversation and approaches the newcomer.

"You came," he says as he tries his best to stop himself from gawking. He knew she was pretty, but there was something else about seeing her outside of work.

"I was dragged here," Nayeon corrects him. "But like you said, I might as well take the opportunity to work on my connections."

"Who dragged you here?" Jin asks. Knowing how sociable Nayeon was, he wasn't surprised that she probably knew some people in this party, but he was still curious as to who could possibly drag one of the most stubborn people he's met.

"Hyung! Noona," he hears someone call. They both turn to see Jungkook entering the hall.

"Speaking of the devil," Nayeon murmurs.

"Sorry you had to go in alone. I had to look for Sana first," Jungkook says.

"Wow, small world. How do you two know each other?" Jin asks. He didn't expect it to be Jungkook.

"He's friends with Yugyeom, my idiot brother. They were hanging out at home and he saw the invitation on our coffee table. He's been texting me nonstop to come," Nayeon explains to Jin.

"I thought Jin would want some company tonight," Jungkook says nonchalantly as he shrugs. Jin's brows furrow at this.

"Oh God. Let's just go," Jin was sure the younger guy didn't know how embarrassed he was making him, so he takes hold of Nayeon's wrist and leads her to where a younger crowd of business people were mingling near the open bar. He spots one of his seniors back in college, Kim Heechul, with a Japanese girl whom he assumes is his girlfriend and decides they would be a good start. The guy was becoming a hotshot in the telecommunications industry.
