Taehyung watches as Namjoon and Tzuyu browse the different displays in his gallery. It was all coming together and he was sure he'd have it open in a couple weeks.
Namjoon convinced him to take them here after their family lunch at their grandparents' place because he absolutely had to be the first one to view his collection.
"What are you planning for this space?" Namjoon asks while he points at the still empty space to the right of the entrance.
"I'm not sure yet. Do you guys have any suggestions? The architect suggested to add a small cafe nook in that area," he replies, gesturing to the half of the empty wing. "But I want the remaining space to be more lively."
Namjoon stares at it for a moment before answering, "You know this area is frequented by art students? Why not make it a sort of community studio? That way you'd be providing a space for less privileged artists."
"Like charity work?" Tae asks.
"Not exactly. You care about art, right? It's just you investing in Seoul's art movement. Who knows? You might even discover new talent here."
"I think it's a great idea," Tzuyu chimes in.
"Thanks. I'll think about it," he says as he tries to visualize what the space would look like filled with art students and artists of all sorts.
At that, Namjoon's phone starts ringing and he excuses himself. Tzuyu starts going through the other rooms in the gallery.
When Namjoon comes back, he's smiling widely.
"Gotta go, guys. I have a date. Tae, thanks for this. I'm already excited to have the full experience once it's officially opened."
"Where are you headed? We could drop you off if you want," Taehyung offers.
"Thanks, but I can just ride my bike. Mind opening your trunk so I can get it?" Namjoon asks.
"Sure," Taehyung says as he presses on his key fob. His car sounds off from outside, signaling that it was unlocked.
Namjoon calls out a goodbye to Tzuyu and waves to Taehyung before he heads out.
Left alone, Taehyung continues to visualize what he would do with the empty space while he waits for Tzuyu to finish going through the gallery.
He's in the middle of typing out a message to the architect he hired when he hears Tzuyu's heels approaching.
"So, what do you think?" he asks. Yet Tzuyu ignores his question.
"We're moving the wedding," she says instead. When he looks at her, her face is as stoic as ever.
"Yeah. You asked them to postpone the wedding until after you graduate, right?"
"No. I asked my dad to move the wedding earlier. It's in two weeks. We'll be sending out the invitations tomorrow that's why I wanted to tell you now," Tzuyu says and Taehyung notes a sad lilt to her voice.
"And you didn't think to tell me before you talked to your dad?" Taehyung asks in a tone that was bordering on anger. He thought he and Tzuyu were on the same page with their arrangement. For the past month that they lived together, the longest conversation they've had was about Yeontan, Butter, and Kaya's feeding schedule, but he was sure that the agreement they made even before their engagement that they'd both treat this whole thing as a contract they had to see through together was clear. He thought she'd at least give him a heads up before making decisions like this.
