A ding from Namjoon's phone brought his attention away from the book he was reading. He immediately opened it and smiled. It was the reply he's been waiting for the whole day.
CHAE: yes, i'm free this afternoon.
Him and the new barista at the cafe have been texting each other non-stop since the other day. When he found out she was a Fine Arts student at SNU, all they've been talking about is art and the new exhibit at the National Museum.
RM: I'll pick you up after your shift then?
CHAE: sure.
Finally, she agreed to go out with him. Namjoon was sure he bordered on annoying sometimes, but he couldn't help it. He was bored, and the girl intrigued him.
"Wow. What's got you smiling like that?" Taehyung asks as he enters from the balcony doors. They were currently at his house. RM wanted to check the changes Taehyung made to his parents' old house after moving in.
"Your boy scored a date," RM replied with an even wider smile. "We're going to check out the new exhibit at the National Museum later."
"Ouch! After rejecting my invite to go yesterday?" Taehyung asks as he feigns being hurt.
RM buries his face in the book he was holding, trying to hide his look of guilt-- though he's sure he doesn't regret choosing to go with Chaeyoung instead. "It's one of the first things we've talked about so I wanted to take her there. I really think the both of you will get along, though. She knows a lot about your favorite artists,"
Taehyung just grins at him.
Is this guy really whipped for a girl he just met days ago?
"Speaking of dates," RM says in attempt to change the topic, "Don't you have to take Tzuyu on a date like her dad and halabeoji said? And do the photo shoot for your proposal?" He does air quotes as he says proposal. They had to do a shoot of the whole thing to make sure that the relationship seemed believable.
It would be impossible to make it so if they didn't post any documentation of their relationship on social media, at least.
"Yeah, we're doing that tomorrow," Taehyung replies, clearly still unbothered by the whole arranged marriage thing.
RM just shrugs and returns to his book. He still couldn't wrap his head around the fact that Taehyung seemed completely fine with everything. If it were him, he would riot-- maybe even ask help from Suga to record a whole diss track for his grandparents.

Seeing that the cafe front was full, RM asked Mr. Yoon, his parents' designated driver, to park the car a short distance away from the cafe.
He hated the car, it was too flashy for his taste, but he had no choice; it was a graduation gift from his parents and buying a less flashy car would be putting it to waste. He also hated the fact that he had a driver, but his fear of messing up with driving outweighed his dislike for having people work for him.
The RM from high school would probably be proud of the Rolls Royce. He'd probably use it as much as he could and find every opportunity to brag about it.
He cringed internally at the memory of his antics back in high school.
Thank God I'm not like that anymore, he thinks to himself as he gets out of the car and walks to the cafe. Right as he reached the cafe front, Chae steps out of the front door with two cups of coffee in hand. The short girl hands him a cup, looking up at him with a smile.
