Jin was about to fix himself lunch after coming home from the orientation when his phone dinged.
DAHYUN: What are you talking about? Are you cooking lunch at your place? Cook a lot. I'm bringing a visitor.
DAHYUN: AND PLEASE COOK THE SEAFOOD PAELLA RM ACTUALLY LIKED
RM: correction, I didn't like it.. It was TOLERABLE. Seafood is still shit to me.
V: Mind if I hang out there after my lunch here?
RM: You mean lunch with your fiancee and in-laws??
RM: OK. I'll be joining you guys, too if you're still there at around 4PM. I NEED updates.
Jin sighed to himself. Looks like he was going to cook a lot for lunch. He didn't mind though. He needed the distraction after his conversation with Nayeon.
I wasn't even able to defend myself, Jin thought to himself.
After the orientation, Nayeon left immediately, obviously wanting to avoid him. He was going to explain and defend himself on their next meeting which was in two days-- when the internship would officially start.
It's bad enough that everything I do isn't enough for my family. Now, even my colleagues are downgrading my efforts just because of who my father is.
He then decides to get on with cooking to distract himself from self-pitying any further.
By the time he starts plating the paella and the roast chicken, he hears a knock on the door, followed by Dahyun barging into his apartment with a guy tagging along.
"Ooooh. Dahyun, who's this?" Jin asks her in a teasing tone.
Oh shit, I should've expected this, Dahyun thinks to herself as she glares at Jin.
"This is Jimin, my business partner," she says. "Jimin, this is my brother, Jin. He's a dork, but he's actually a great cook."
"Wait, you kinda look familiar, have we met before?" Jin asks as he finishes up with plating. Dahyun goes to set the table and Jimin tags along.
"I'm not sure. I don't think so..." Jimin answers as he tries to recall.
"Oh, he's also business partners with that friend of yours. Hoseok? They co-own the bar you brought us to last week," Dahyun says while setting down the plates.
"I might have seen you during Hoseok's parties then," Jin looks at him and smiles, then he turns and starts rummaging through the fridge.
"So you remember last week at the bar?" Jimin says to Dahyun in a low voice so that only she could hear. When Dahyun looks at him with her cheeks already tinted red, he just winks at her.
"Yah!" Dahyun glares at him and hits him with her elbow.
When Jin sees how comfortable Dahyun is with Jimin, he starts to question in his mind if they're really just business partners. It usually took months of friendship before Dahyun would treat people like this.
Jin decides to ask and tease Dahyun about it later.
"Let's eat?" He asks the both of them and motions for them to sit on the dining table.
As they take their seats and Jimin sees the seafood paella, he immediately turns to Dahyun and whispers, "Yah! Is this a trap?"
Dahyun laughs. Where'd flirty Jimin go?
