"Hey, babe." Y/N smiles, approaching her boyfriend Eli in the hallway.

"Hi," Eli says, continuing to shuffle through his locker. "How's your day so far?" She asks him, Eli grabs his books and puts them into his back.

"Fine." He answers quickly.

"Do you think we could hang out after school?" Eli asks her. "Oh... well actually Yasmine asked me to go to this party with her later tonight." She explains, "But you can come with if you want!"

"No, it's okay. Have fun with your friends." Eli says, trying to hide his sorrow. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, it's okay," Eli assures. He was totally lying. "Well, I'll see you later, alright?" Y/N says, then looks over and sees Yasmine, Moon, and Sam.

"Love you!" She shouts as she walks over to them. Eli sighs, "Love you."

He grabs his stuff and goes to class. He wasn't paying any attention. He was more focused on the lost attention from his girlfriend.

They hadn't hung out together for a while, she had either been hanging out with Sam, having a sleepover with Moon, or out drunk with Yasmine. Eli wasn't sure if this was healthy for a relationship like they had. Before she was 'popular', she would always go over to Eli's house after school, they were pretty much attached to each other. He wasn't sure if that was healthy either, but he knew damn well that it was better than the disconnection they had right now.

He doodles on his worksheet, his chin on his desk as the teacher continues his lecture about the history of the Native Americans. Eli would normally be interested, but today was so different.

After the class, Eli is about to walk out, the teacher stopping him. "You seemed off today, you're normally the one that always pays attention." He says.

Eli sighs, "Yeah, I'm sorry."

"No need to apologize. Do you want me to push your assignment back until Thursday morning?"

"No, thanks for the offer though. I'm good." Eli says. "Alright, well if you change your mind kid, let me know."

Eli gives him a small smile as he exits the classroom.

Later that day after school, Eli decided he would go to the party, and try and talk some sense into her, and ask why she hasn't been hanging out with him.

He didn't feel the need to dress up, so he just decided to go with some jeans and a t-shirt that he didn't care about.

Eli looks and the mirror, and then the space behind him. Normally when he was getting changed and Y/N was there, she would be on his bed just laying there, or looking at his stuff and he would just admire her. But now, she wasn't there, and it broke his heart.

He sighs. He grabs his phone off of the table near his bed, then makes his way to the party where he would hopefully get his other half back.

AT THE PARTY

Once he arrives, he looks around and sees teenagers scattered across the front lawn, and around the house, but no trace of Y/N.

Maybe she was inside, or just hasn't arrived yet. He thought.

He walks inside and sees Yasmine, Moon, Samantha, and Y/N. There she was. He wanted to talk to her and ask her why she's been distant lately, but he also didn't have the courage for it.
