I woke up with gentle pad on my head and a sweet voice.
"Wake up papa's girl." I smiled as my father adressed me in most affectionate way.
"Papa's princess." He added and I thought to stay put and wait for more nicknames to fill my heart with contenment.
"Papa's little baby." He said once again and kissed my head while I giggled.
"I love you." I said as I sat up straight hugging him.
"I love you too. Now get up and be ready. Your friend will be here any moment."
I realized that it wasn't morning and he qasn't waking me up for college.
We had guests to attend.
How I wish that it was only my friend and not Manik Malhotra.
Papa went out after making sure that I was up and I disheartedly moved towards the cupboard to get myself a dress to wear.
I picked a random red shalwar suit with a matching dupatta. It was a plain chiffon suit that I paired with gold studs and applied just a moisturizer, kajal and a lip gloss just to hide my dried lips.
Well, we were not going to some dinner. It was just a casual dinner with unwanted guest....
Excluding Sidharth of course.
I was so much tormented over Manik's arrival that I totally forgot to be happy on Sidharth's arrival.
I left my hair open running down my waist. I moved downstairs after seeing that 15 minutes were still left to strike eight.
"Sorry. I couldn't help you today." I apologised to my mother as I saw all the things arranged on dining table.
I felt like a useless person.
"I know my daughter was tired or else she would have helped me." She said and I realized how stupid I was to think of something done by an outsider and not concentrate on how much my parents love me.
"And moreover princesses don't work." Papa said taking me in a side hug.
I laughed but suddenly the clouds rumbled, giving the loudest sound of thunder and they made me shiver.
I stood still for a second before my father laughed at my behaviour.
"Oh God, mera bacha." Papa said joining his head with mine keeping me in his protective embrace.
I moved towards table and helped mama arrange the cutlery while papa sat on the couch in the lounge.
The time passed in a jiffy and the ringing of our doorbell caught our attention.
Papa hurriedly moved to open the door as he didn't want them to get drenched in rain that started pouring about five minutes ago.
Manik Malhotra entered followed by someone who brought a smile on my face. Manik handed over a present to mama who scolded him on a lighter note for bothering so much.
Ahh.. So much manners.
He doesn't have them when they are not around.
Diplomat.
I moved as I saw my mother eyeing me to come out of my land and greet the Malhotras.
I moved towards them while mama and Papa moved towards living area to get seated.
"Hey Sidharth..!!" I said cheerfully walking past Mr Malhotra who looked really ignored and bothered.
Being disrespectful.. no !!??
