We all leave together, getting on an SUV that are waiting for us. Dimitri pulls me to him and Edward seats next to Victoria. Victoria looking out the window.
"They'll be ok, I told him not to do anything stupid. He's not happy but he knows she's your friend, like your sister. He will not do anything." Dimitri speaks to me in my mind, rubbing my tigh with his hand. It's not my business but it is. Even if I wanted to send her away, Edward would find her, never forgiving me or Dimitri. I wanted to keep her away, my mother should have known better than to bring her. Shit! I roll my eyes.
"Mila, look happier. " Victoria tells me as she's looking over.
"I am." I smile big, showing her my full on smile.
"That's better." She grins, turning around. "Can we go to time square? And we can walk around until we're tired?''
"Of course'' Edward replies instantly. I roll my eyes, Dimitri squeezing my leg.
The sun starting to set, as we pull up at time square, Victoria beaming with glee. Getting out, the driver speaking Russian to Dimitri, letting them know he'll call when we're ready. We all get out, Victoria grabbing my arm intertwining it with hers. I've actually haven't seen this part of town like this. I just worked and did my walks and went straight back to my apartment. Which reminds me, I need to grab my stuff from it. Nothing important but still my stuff.
"So what happened....really? I know you and know you wouldn't have left me or your mother.'' Victoria whispering to my ear. I can feel Dimitri and Edward right behind us. People moving out of our way as we walk. Women looking at Dimitri and Edwards as eye candy.
"It's a long story, maybe we can talk when we get back, only us two." She nods her head at me. "Edward is really hot Mila, like really hot." Grinning big as she tells me.
"Stop." I shake my head at her. "What? You don't think he is." Raising her eyebrows at me. "Ummm, I guess he is." "I didn't know you like guys with tattoos," as she looks behind us, looking back at me. "I can't believe you finally lost it." She laughs, as I feel myself blush. "Shut it Vic." I elbow her. Making her laugh some more.
We walk looking at everything and everyone for several hours. We all actually have a good time together, and I laugh and talk, feeling like my life is normal, something I haven't felt since I've met Dimitri. The boys let us be, as we continue talking, mostly of what we are seeing and myself asking her questions about her family and back home. We, somehow fit together really well.
In true fashion, the city only keeps getting crazier. Both old and young are out and about. Even without the moon, the city is completely lit up. After our several hours of walking, enjoying light conversation between us. We end up at a pizza restaurant. Walking in, we seat down. Ordering our drinks and pizza. I look at all of them and I feel at home. Edward, never taking his eyes off Victoria. Victoria actually taking a liken to Edward. She's never been like this towards a guy. We eat and drink, actually making my head spin. I've never been a big alcohol drinker but tonight, why not?
"Well, I just want to congratulate Mila and Dimitris engagement, formally." Raising herself and her glass of beer up. As we look and smile at Victoria. "Now Dimitri." Pointing her finger at him. "if you hurt her, I will hunt you down." Eyeing him, drunkenly, We all laugh.
"Ok you," Grabbing her drink, "that's enough of that." She falls, laughing into Edwards arms. "One more round." She tells our waitress.
"No Vic, that's enough."
"Mila, live it up. We only live once."
"Yes, we only live once Mila." Edward agreeing with her, smirking.
