3rd person's POV
"What's for lunch today, Bakubro?" Kirishima sings, walking into the kitchen and sniffing for some food.
"So finally you decide to talk to me." Katsuki huffs, placing a bowl for Kirishima.
"What do you mean? I've always talked to you." Kirishima nervously chuckles, sitting at the counter.
"No the fuck you haven't. And we both know it." Katsuki scoffs, folding his arms as he waits.
Kirishima tries diverting the topic, vaguely answering Katsuki, just making up an excuse that he's just been busy and this had nothing to do with anything that was happening.
Katsuki knew too well though. Kirishima just wasn't acting like him, but he also knew that he shouldn't disturb him, he probably just needed some time to figure things out himself.
He always figured it out himself, it was never a problem. But the time he took this time made Katsuki a little anxious, even though he was majorly distracted by Izuku.
"I used to like you okay?" Kirishima starts, immediately stopping when Katsuki heaves out a sighs, softly banging the table.
Kirishima looked a little hurt at Katsuki's reaction. He knew Katsuki didn't like him back but such a reaction just worsened his mood.
"I'm sorry it's just- you're the second person to tell me that you like me in a single week and I'm worried if I have anymore people waiting to tell me." Katsuki hurriedly explains, waving it off and asking Kirishima to continue.
"I mean, I'm a really possessive person, okay? Even though you weren't my boyfriend I always liked the attention I get from you!
And when Midoriya came by, he had everyone's attention, especially yours and I felt jealous. I knew I would end up making the worst decisions if I stayed near you so I distanced myself."
Kirishima explains, apparently their other friends also knew about this but couldn't really do anything when Katsuki introduces Izuku as his boyfriend.
"You worried me, idiot." Katsuki starts off with a disappointed look, already making Kirishima feel miserable.
"I was worried something was wrong in your family or something! I know you were never the ones to take family fights easily so I seriously thought you're parents were fighting or something and-" Katsuki continues speaking in a fast pace and stops momentarily for a deep breath.
"I was about to march all the way to your parents house and ask them what happened, you know?" Katsuki finishes with a sigh as Kirishima looks down in embarrassment.
Kirishima always had problems with his family. His parents weren't the sweetest with each other and apparently only stay together because they want Kirishima to be happy.
Kirishima knew though, that they loved each other dearly, but he couldn't never intervene in their argument! It wasn't his job and it always frustrated him.
Katsuki helped then. Kirishima would shut himself away for sometime. The time varied from hours to days but his friends always waited. Katsuki always waited.
Because they knew. Kirishima could always figure it out himself, he just needs time and some time by himself.
"Look Kirishima, I'm flattered that you like me, but like you said, I'm in a relationship, I can't-" Katsuki starts in a decent way of rejecting him.
But to Katsuki's surprise, Kirishima waves his arms and instantly shakes his head, stopping Katsuki from speaking further.
"Bakugo, I never proposed to you. Honestly, I never thought of proposing to you, okay? I just had a tiny crush on you and it always showed.
I'm just telling you that I used to feel like this and I needed time. Now I've figured out what I want for myself. I think... I'm happy just being your friend." He finishes with a grateful smile.
Katsuki let's out a sigh of relief when he realises he doesn't have to break his friends heart.
These days things were gradually getting better for them. After the silly prank Izuku and Katsuki started talking on a daily basis.
After Katsuki's departure, things were very awkward between them, the jealousy, hate, overprotective feelings were all ruining their peaceful relationship.
Katsuki never expected external factors to ever hinder his relationship with Izuku, but he also never expected their own feelings to betray them.
Katsuki never thought hate or jealousy would ever be in their relationship. He expected their relationship to always be strong, even in long distances.
But now Katsuki finally understands, people change. They could go through immense differences they would probably never be recognised as the person they used to be.
But Katsuki never stopped loving Izuku. Even through this tough and irritating situation, Katsuki couldn't help but notice the love behind Izuku's intentions.
Sure this was irritating and too controlling, but Izuku was just worried. He had been in a completely different continent for years without anybody he loved.
He had been isolated at such a young age from his boyfriend and forced to have a long distance relationship because of someone he was accustomed to hate, it wasn't easy.
All this time, Katsuki had only been thinking about himself, questioning why Izuku couldn't trust him, why things suddenly changed between them.
After their fight and actually forcing them to have a civil conversation, Katsuki understood that Izuku wasn't thinking Katsuki was not trustworthy.
Rather, Izuku didn't trust himself.
Izuku didn't trust himself to be able to love Katsuki. Izuku didn't trust himself to understand Katsuki as good as his current friends did after so many years.
Izuku didn't trust himself to take care of Katsuki as good as his friends did.
Now Katsuki knew what he needed to do. He just needed to let Izuku get some time, keep showing his love and support through screens for the time being.
Izuku just needed time, like Kirishima did!
Katsuki also now understood how to tackle this situation. From now on, Katsuki wouldn't try to prove himself to be trustworthy by staying away from people, instead show that Izuku is the best boyfriend he could've ever asked for.
