JENNIE

I have been a resident of Morgan NY Hospital for a year and a half now and I can say that there are things I realize. I realize that I am more passionate in Internal Medicine. I asked for Lisa's advice as I got so confused lately and she is really eager to listen to me and give her thoughts. She is really so smart for giving her inputs but she always ends her words with the bottom line: "Whatever that will make you happy, Jen. Figure things out especially where you think you will excel. Stay calm and don't pressure yourself. You have all the time to think about it. I am always here to support you."

And I have decided. I am pushing through Internal Medicine. One factor is, I want to have a family with Lisa. I want to have kids of our own. And I don't want to spend much of my time at the hospital. I want to take care of my Lisa and kids too someday.
So, I told her about it and she is so happy to know that I have finally found my path and my residency will be shortened for three years.

Lisa has been talking about a new case she's handling. She gave me a hint already that she will surely be publicized because she is handling the case of the famous celebrity Lee Hyeri. I was surprised when Lisa told me she is secretly married to that arrogant Jackson Wang for three years. She was a battered wife. I never expected this beautiful soul is a victim of physical, emotional and psychological abuse. She was even forced to discontinue her pregnancy when they found out she's carrying their baby for a month because Jackson was not ready to be a father.
I told Lisa to please win the case. I really feel bad for Hyeri. She promised me to finish the case in just a few months.

Lisa never failed to talk to me whenever I need her and even if I don't. I love listening to her stories. I love her jokes. I love the way she tells me she loves me and how much she misses me and then suddenly she'll pop at my door here in the US.

Yes, here she is now, waiting for me outside the hospital. So good looking in her white loose shirt and black jeans. She's just even wearing a Birk and I'm out of words. She takes my breath away.

"Looking so hot, Attorney!"
I welcomed her with a kiss.

"You really find me hot whenever you see my feet, Doc?"
She said.

And I forgot that I was with my fellow Doctors. I introduced Lisa to them and they are really happy to meet her.
She took my bag and my car key.

"Love? That Doctor? Was that Dr. Park Chanyeol? Remember? When our baby..."
She asked.

"Oh, yes! He moved here and now he's the head of OB department."
I said.

"I notice he— he looks at you differently."
She said.

"Hmmm. Jealous?"
I asked but I am laughing.

"Hmmm. Should I be?"
She asked.

"Oh god. Baby, no. Really no."
I said and kissed her again when we entered the car.

I stared at her the whole ride and she is so curious.

"Hmmm? Why? Do I have a dirt on my face?"
She asked.

"You've got the most beautiful face I ever gazed on, Lis."
I said and my heart is pumping so fast.

"You're just hungry. Want to eat?"
She said and chuckled.

"I want to have sex."
I said and I feel so hot. Really hot! Because why do you have to be this attractive, Lisa?

Lisa was surprised and lost control of the break.

"Baby! Jennie!
Are you serious? In the middle of the road?"
She asked while perspiring. I believe the air-con inside the car is on.

"Did I ever joke about me being so hungry to make love with you? I love you, Lisa. And everyday I want you beside me. I missed you. You know that."
I said and she drove fast and took a left turn in a dead end lane at the corner of Bunk St.

And we did it. Again. Inside the car in one romantic afternoon as the sun sets.

We walked around the streets of New York and she holds my hand gently. We passed by some vintage shops until we reached the luxurious street.

We entered this elegant jewelry shop that customizes everything you need and like.
Looks like they all know Lisa here.
I was looking on those beautiful necklace and pearls. I got amazed by the ring I first glanced on.
Lisa walked her way to the shop owner.

LISA

"Hello, guys! Hello Mr. Harper! Finally, we see each other again!"
I greeted him and his staff. They're so happy to see me.

"Attorney Lisa Manoban, you're back! So, what's up? You're with a new girl. It didn't really workout with Jennie?"
He asked with sadness in his eyes.

"Mr. Harper, she is Jennie Kim."
I told him while we're both looking at her from afar checking out some jewelries.

"Oh my god. So you're getting the ring now? You know it's still here. It's still waiting for you to propose to Jennie."
He said and we both looked at the wall where the ring is hung inside a transparent safety glass box.

"No. Not for proposal. When I was with them here during my review, her Mom told me that I should give Jennie her engagement ring when it's my time to propose. I found it at their house when I was inspecting everything before I had it renovated. It's the exact location where Aunt said she has been keeping in for years. So, with that special ring on the wall, can you make a pair? I mean, another one for me for the wedding?"
I explained and Mr. Harper hugged me.

"Baby, is this for sale?"
Jennie found the ring on the wall and she wants to purchase it now. My god. No.

"Love, this is Mr. Harper. The owner and a good friend of mine."
I introduced them to each other. Jennie offered a handshake.

"So, this is Doctor Jennie Kim. The love of your life."
He said and Jennie was shocked.

"I'm still on my residency so not fully a Doctor yet, Mr. Harper."
She said and gave her beautiful smile.

"Still. I believe you will be the best Doctor based on Lisa's stories here every time we talked about you before."
He said. Jennie giggled upon hearing it.

Jennie held my hand and pulled me closer to the ring on the wall.

"Lisa, I want to buy this now. It would really look good on me."
She is insisting.

Not now, Jen. I have a plan!

"I'm sorry, Doctor Kim. But that is not for sale. That's reserved for someone who is getting married very soon. I am sorry."
Mr. Harper is such a big help. Jennie became sad.

Jennie never stopped talking about the ring. And here I am, trying to divert her attention.
We visited the families I worked for as a cleaner before and they are all happy to see me and meet Jennie.
I don't know why I have been introducing her as my fiancée. All I know is, I am sure that we will get married and live together forever.

We ended the night with one thing I haven't done to her before.

A date.
A romantic one.
With candles and red roses.
With a violinist.

Jennie cried because of this romantic feeling she had inside her and she thanked me for letting her experience this.
The night became so emotional with us crying and remembering our past love regardless if it's pain or joy. All that matters now is we are still together and we have learned our lessons.

"I am sorry. I was too late. I couldn't afford this kind of date when we were studying. But here we are now, I am giving you the best of the best from now on, Jennie. I'm never going to miss a chance of making you feel so important to me. Not anymore, Jen. I love you!"
