AS DAWN BEGAN to creep in, your e/c eyes opening slowly as the rising sun rays began to hit your face. you got up and did your usual routine, showered, and went down to meet your parents for breakfast. once you got there, you see the blondie sitting next to the seat you usually sit on, he noticed you and waved.

[y/n's pov]

i sat down next to armin, it was just the two of us..i guess my parents aren't here yet. i couldn't help but feel so embarrassed with the awkwardness creeping in between armin and i yet again. i turned to him and broke the silence, "gooooood morning blondie!" shit..i said that nickname out loud.. armin seemed to notice as, his red face says it all. "i'm sorry! it just s-sorta came out. i didn't mean to" he let out a chuckle, "i-it's okay, seriously. it's a cute nickname, but good morning to you y/n!" i signed in relief, i'm sticking with that nickname.

"did you sleep well?"

that caring sentence that escaped his from his lips made my heart clench

"i slept pretty good, it's my second day here so i'm pretty much adjusted. how about you?" i said while fiddling with the flower petals, that were in the middle of the table gentle enough not to tear them apart from the stem . "i slept okay, just still getting used to being a bit far from home.." i saw his eyes sadden a bit as he said that. i felt my heart sink a little, seeing those beautiful sapphire eyes of his lose a bit of its glow, "i understand. it's difficult being away from home and from those you love. though, we just met i'm always here to talk if anything. make this trip a good experience. a way to learn and come back to those you love and care about feeling proud. i know they're eagarly waiting for you back at home." i made sure to give him a reassuring smile. he looked at me, the light in his eyes coming back. "you're right! i promise you that i'll make this an adventure of a lifetime!" his smile grew big, along with his eyes. "yeah! that's the spirit blondie!" we both laughed and gave each other a fist bump. we continued talking about random nonsense and my parents finally appeared and sat in front of each other from the ends of the table. "good morning, armin. i hope you slept well." "good morning, mrs. l/n, and thank you i did!"

nicolo and sasha came out together holding trays of breakfast then sat across armin and i. we all started to serve ourselves and ate the delicious food. "excuse me for a bit, i'll be right back." nicolo excused himself and went back to the kitchen, i wonder what he's doing.. i looked at sasha only to see her have a huge grin on her face. nicolo then came out with a tray of conchas! "ta da!" "nicolo, you've done it again!" my dad said happily, him and sasha immediately digging for one. i smiled in delight and grabbed a brown topping one. i then looked over to my right at armin and he looked confused as ever. i nudged his arm, " armin, you've never had a concha?" he looked embarrassed and nodded a small 'no'. i couldn't help but giggle, "it's a traditional mexican sweet bread! concha translates to seashell, because of their striped seashell-like shape. you should try one, it's really good!" i said excitedly, like come on, it's the boys first concha. i'm excited to see his reaction.
