"mr. and mrs. jaeger?" i heard armin say, he looked stunned.

"armin! what a pleasant surprise!"

wait..THE jaegers? but we just delivered the letter..how?

armin and i stayed frozen as the two couple standing before us was giving us a warm, yet confused smile.

"well, you see. we decided to come a bit early since our tickets were mixed up. we're staying at the ackerman's summer house. sorry for the inconvenience."

what a surprise. definitely did not expect this. i glanced at armin and he had that unsure face he had earlier again.. what is with him?

"ah, armin! mikasa and eren say hello. they know you're here, they're excited to spend the summer with you here." the kind woman said.

armin's ears perked up when eren's name was brought up, his eyes widening slightly. he quickly covered it and faced them with a smile, "thank you mrs. jaeger. it'll be a bit difficult to spend the summer with them though. i only came here for work and know more for my studies."

"ahh armin, how did you come here to focus on your studies when you're here focusing on something else instead?" mr. jaeger then joined in chuckling as he pointed at me.

"a-ah, no! you see, we're more like colleagues. this is y/n, y/f/n's daughter." armin said as he fiddled with his fingers.

ouch

"huh.." the jaegers scoffed with amusement in unison. "but y/n! what a surprise, we didn't know you were y/f/n's daughter! you resemble more of your mother!" mrs. jaeger said as she gently took my hand to shake it, her hazel eyes looking into mine with kindness.

she's so pretty up close..kinda jealous

"anyways, we were wondering if you two could lead us to your summer house so we could meet up with your father, y/n." mr. jaeger said as he took out his car keys. i looked at armin and he turned to me and gave me a small smile. the sun has already set and figured it was time to go back home. after all, i couldn't keep the jaegers waiting any longer. i was a bit disappointed though, i had fun with armin today..i sort of didn't want the day to end yet.
i gathered my stuff and stood up from my chair and faced the jaegers, "of course, i'll lead you guys the way."

the car drive back to my house was a silent, like.. awkward silence. i only spoke up when i gave mr. jaeger directions, but he seemed to get the way now so he didn't need my help anymore. the jaegers were into their own conversations while armin was still fiddling with his fingers, i don't know what went through me but i extended my hand out to his and set it on top of it trying to comfort him. he jumped a bit at my sudden action, and my heart dropped to my ass once i realized what i had just did. i turned to him and he quickly turned to look outside the window, his face flushed red.

i was about to move my hand away until he took his free hand and set it on top of and cupped it. "thank you..i really needed this. can we stay like this until we get home?" armin spoke up softly, i couldn't find the words on what to say next, so i just nodded my head as he caressed my hand gently. his hand was so warm and tender, his slender fingers caressing my knuckles as i got the courage to wrap my thumb on his. armin and i were now facing shyly to the window with his hand on mine, the awkward silence has now turned into a comforting one. little did we know mr. jaeger was witnessing everything from the rear view mirror and smiling to himself as we were almost reaching our destination.
