I arrive in front of Peter's building and gaze up at it. Maybe I should just fly up there? I dismiss the thought and decide to take the elevator instead. I don't want to risk anyone seeing me use my powers. I walk onto the roof and see Peter already here. He's looking out at the view and I sneak up until I'm only a few feet behind him. "It's a nice view from up here," I say.
He briskly whips around and grins when he sees me. "Hi," he mutters as he continues to stare.
"Hi," I return with a smile. We walk up to each other until we meet halfway. "What's going on in that head of yours?" I ask when I notice his intense stare. He instantly snaps out of it.
"Uh- uh, nothing... nothing," he replies, clearing his throat. I narrow my eyes at him suspiciously.
"You know I could read your mind if I want to, right?"
His eyes widen in fear, making me laugh. "Don't worry, I won't do that without your consent," I say. He relaxes at my words. How bad must his thoughts be if he's so afraid of me snooping?
"So, uh, you wanted to tell me something?" Peter changes the subject. A rush of nerves and excitement goes through me. I don't think he'll react badly... I hope.
"Yeah," I whisper, walking closer. "Before I do, I just want to apologize for not telling you about it sooner..." He gives me a confused look.
"Is it bad?"
I shake my head and lightly smile. I walk past him and stop when I'm a good distance away. I turn around and he's watching me curiously. "What are you doing?"
I smirk and say, "showing you." My hands glow purple as my feet lift off of the ground. Peter's jaw drops when he sees me a few feet in the air. I come back down and gaze at him, waiting for him to say something. He just speechlessly stares at me. "Uh, Peter?"
"You can fly..." he breathes out, looking mesmerized. I giggle at his reaction. "But how? When did you... was it Mr. Stark? It worked???" he babbles excitedly.
"Yeah, Pete, it worked!" I respond. I jump into his arms and he lifts me, spinning me around.
"Y/n, this is so awesome!" he exclaims as he sets me down. "I'm so happy for you!" I step back and beam at him.
"Thanks! I wanted to tell you as soon as I found out but then I decided to wait until I gained better control so I could show you," I explain.
"Wait, so when did you find out?"
"Two weeks ago..."
Peter is taken aback by this. Uh oh. "Two weeks?"
"Yeah," I nervously reply, scared that he's mad. A soft smile graces his lips. "It's fine, y/n. I get it. I'm just glad you did tell me," he assures me. I grin, relieved that he's taking it so well. How did I get so blessed with such an amazing friend?
