Third Person POV:

Everything in the compound rumbles, and everyone runs outside to check out what it is. They view a spacecraft drifting toward them, carried by a bright light. The ship lands on the ground and the light is revealed to be a woman. The hatch opens up and Nebula helps Tony down the steps. Steve instantly sprints to them and helps Tony stand upright. "Couldn't stop him," Tony utters.

"Neither could I."

"Hang on..." Tony trails off as he halts and gazes at the blonde. "I lost the kid," he mournfully whispers.

Steve swallows the lump in his throat, not knowing how to tell him that he lost y/n. "Tony, we lost."

"Is uh..." Tony commences, wanting to know about Pepper and y/n. As if on cue, Pepper jogs up to him. "Oh, good," he mutters when he sees her.

"Oh, my God. Oh, my God," Pepper sobs as she embraces him. Tony kisses her forehead and whispers, "it's okay." He glances around before looking between Pepper and Steve. "Where's y/n?"

The two exchange a look, afraid to tell the man the news. Steve frowns and looks down, shaking his head. Tony fearfully gazes at him before looking at Pepper, who just stares back with a sorrowful expression. He feels a sharp pain in his chest when he realizes. "No... not our daughter," he cries, his vision blurring as he stares at Pepper. The woman just sobs while Steve stands there with a deep frown. Pepper wraps an arm around Tony's waist and leads him inside.

*Time skip*

The Avengers gather around as they discuss the aftermath of Thanos. Images of the fallen are showcased as they speak. Peter's picture pops us and Tony's breath hitches, he feels guilty for his passing. He glances back up and now y/n's photo appears, breaking his heart further. He lost his daughter. Steve gulps and turns away when he sees her photo, also feeling guilty for her death. He can't help but think that if he had done things differently, y/n and everyone else would still be here.

The Next Day

The team went to take the stones from Thanos only to discover that he had destroyed them. Thanks to Thor, he's now dead and the heroes returned home. They sit in the compound, all keeping to themselves as they mourn. An alert suddenly sounds, and Nat and Steve check what it is. An image of the front gate pops up, where a couple is standing. "Uh, hello? My name is Jonathan Byers and this is my wife, Nancy Byers," the man speaks. Realization hits Steve and he lets them into the compound.

"What's going on?" Tony asks as he walks into the room. Steve turns to him and sighs. Nancy and Jonathan saunter into the room cautiously and everyone glances at them. Tony immediately recognizes them.

"Um, hi... sorry to just drop in like this but we've been calling y/n and she won't answer. We need to make sure she's okay," Jonathan desperately chatters.

"Is she here?" Nancy hopefully asks. The Avengers just give them a sympathetic look, making the pair stare back fearfully. "Where is she?" Nancy questions again.

"I'm sorry..." Tony whispers, his own eyes watering. The couple looks distraught, not wanting to believe that she's gone again. They lost her again, only this time for real. Nancy breaks down and cries into her husband's chest. He holds her, tears streaming down his own face. They thank the heroes for the information and leave. They had both been calling around and discovered that a few of their friends and family had disappeared. Will's wife and son both disintegrated, leaving Will alone, and El also dusted away, leaving Mike behind. Joyce, Lucas, Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair, Steve Harrington, and Robin are among the fallen. They were at the office, covering the news of the aliens when a few of their co-workers disintegrated around them. Jonathan was even able to snap some photos of some of them as they turned to dust.
