~Time Skip~
[New Year's Eve]
Brayden Pov:
Sitting in my office at my club I leaned back in my swivel chair with my arms crossed as I stared blankly back at my younger brother who was sprawled out on one of the couches in my office. Yori sat silently in the chair in front of my desk looking between me and Lou as we were in an intense argument.
"All I'm saying bro is that I'm not a child and I don't need you to continuously look over my shoulder anymore." Lou fussed sitting up slightly in his seat with an irritated expression painted on his face.
"I'm not trying to treat you like a child Lou but this party you're throwing tonight is dumb as hell." I fussed back matching his irritated expression because he was being so damn stubborn. "Matter of fact I told yo ass no and you still went behind my back on some sneak shit."
"Mannnnn," He dragged out smacking his lips as he waved me off signaling, he was tired of this argument. "I'm grown as hell I asked as a common courtesy, but I don't need your permission to do shit Brayden. When is it going to finally register to you that I'm 22 years old not five!"
Chuckling lowly to myself I looked over at Yori who was shaking his head looking like a disappointed parent as he looked between the two of us.
"Aye, he said he was giving me 'common courtesy' on a club that I own." I told Yori with a smirk on my face as I pointed to myself confused on my little brother's logic. "Nigga, you ain't giving me shit. The common courtesy is that I'm still allowing you to throw this bull shit ass party even after you disregarded my wishes." I scoffed putting my focus back on Lou.
"I also understand that you're 22." I clarified as he gave me a 'yeah right' type of facial expression.
"Do you really bro?" He asked looking doubtful. "I get that you've raised me and taken on the role of my parent, but Brayden I'm grown. You don't need to still baby and coddle me so stop treating me like a boy and respect me as a man."
"I'll start treating you like a man when you stop making dumb ass decisions. You'll gain my respect as a man when you finally learn what it is to become a man cause the little stunts you've been pulling is still on some little boy shit." I told him calmly with a nonchalant expression on my face as he sighed annoyed.
"What dumb ass decisions have I made lately? I haven't done shit since I've gotten out the hospital. Hell, it's not like I can anyway if I wanted too." He told me gesturing to his leg as I bit down on my bottom lip.
"This party tonight for one." I disagreed as he threw his head back tired of me constantly bringing up this party. "Like you just said you just got out the hospital and you think it's a smart decision for you to throw a party. On New Year's Eve especially. Plus, don't even get me started on the shit you were doing before you got put in the hospital."
"Matter of fact the events that led to you being put in the hospital cause you always wanna prove me wrong. You say I baby you when in reality I'm looking out for you because I know what's best. I've been yo age and done the shit you've done. Shit, probably more that's why I'm so hard on you."
"You can't punish me for some shit I don't remember! Everyone has been tip toeing around on this subject instead of speaking up on what I'm missing out on! Quit keeping me in the dark and disregarding me when I ask why I was put in the hospital!" He yelled out as frustration and anger leaked into his tone.
Rubbing a hand down my face I licked over my lips slowly thinking over his words knowing he had a point. As much as I wanted to tell Lou the truth, I was scared of what it was going to do to him once he figured it out. I was more afraid of what he would do once he finally remembered.
