Part 1
Brayden Pov:
As I sat in the common area along with the rest of inmates who were in my block. We were all sprawled out at the different tables doing different things ranging from playing cards, dominos, and some people were even having bible study. I sat at the circular table near the front that was facing the table as a few of my gang members sat around me talking.
"I'm glad as fuck they finally took us off that damn lock down!" Jahil announced loudly as he slammed his hands against the dingy sliver table causing stares to be sent our way. "It's bad enough a nigga stuck in here with all you motha' fuckas but to be stuck in my cell for 23 hours a day was really testin' a nigga." He continued with his rant paying the stares no mind as I shook my head.
"Shut yo overly loud dramatic ass up Jah." Samuel, an old head who used to run with Rico back in the day scolded eyeing Jahil in annoyance.
"You know how OG is when it comes to his news time." Silas teased leaning over nudging Jah shoulder who was waving off Samuel. "OG been here longer than anybody up in this bih and still trying to keep up with the outside world. Knowing his ancient ass in here for life." He continued joking on Sam as our table busted out in laughter.
"At least I ain't the goofy mutha' fucka' who's in here for trying to steal cereal out the convenience store. Embarrassing ass jit." Sam mumbled out never removing his stare from off the TV causing our table to roar with laughter as Silas sat there looking stupid.
"Ol' hungry ass mutha' fucka!" Jah called out while laughing and pointing his finger in Silas face. "How you claim to be a street nigga and get caught stealin' cereal my nigga?"
"Aye, Jah the worst part was this nigga hadn't even made it inside the actual jail yet and was cryin' like a lil' bitch during processing. Snot nose cryin' and all!" Carlos, the joker of the group added calling out Silas who smacked his lip eyeing us all in anger, but he kept his ass quiet.
With a smirk on my face, I tuned these fools out as they kept clownin' on Silas and placed my attention onto the TV that sat above us mounted to the wall. As I seen a picture of Tez pop up onto the screen I tapped Sam to turn it up so I could hear what they were saying.
"Man, I can't believe I have to make this announcement after just talking to him the other day. He was pumped up about starting physical therapy and trying to make a comeback in the NFL. I hate having to announce that Cortez Washington was pronounced dead Wednesday evening." The white guy with the overly gelled hair that was slicked back to perfection announced with a sad frown on his face.
"I can't believe it either Jim, the stories that are circulating around social media are truly heartbreaking. They said his house maid was the one who found his body when she arrived at work that morning. It was stated that his house had been completely trashed and his NFL Superbowl ring is missing." The overweight Hispanic male responded back to his co-host with a matching sad frown while shaking his head in disbelief.
"Diego, that's just sad they took something so valuable. His father released a statement Thursday morning stating how upset he is over the loss of his son and how he was taken from in such a horrific way. Apparently, the autopsy showed that he was beaten then drowned in his own pool. Which is why his father stated he wouldn't stop fighting for justice for his son until the criminals who did such a thing are found." Jim continued looking directly at the camera before focusing his attention on Diego.
"Then on top of that the same day Cortez's father released his statement a story broke on Cortez and one of his relationships. It turns out the same man Cortez was trying to sue is the girlfriend of that club owner who was recently arrested for the murder of his father. It showed threats Cortez had sent to this woman and was alleging stalking her."
