Irreversible decisions

They were all still standing at the entrance to the kitchen. No one moved, no one said anything after Adeline. They were just looking at each other. Astrid was breaking. It was enough she had to ignore her best friend to keep her safe, now she felt like it has been a life time since they talked. So now she didn't know how to say anything, but she felt like she had to sum up her strength because Adeline obviously knew more than the last time she saw her.

"What do you want to talk about?" that was everything she could get herself to say.

"I want the truth. The whole truth. From the very beginning to now, without any lies. That is all I want. I know what you are. What all of you are!" Adeline said

Kellam knew this was coming sooner than later. It was all because of Atrix. He knew he was going to tell Adeline everything. Kellam even tried to prevent it by ordering Atrix not to say a word. Even he wouldn't admit it, he was watching Adeline every day. He even went to the bar to have an eye on her because he saw she started to become friends with Atrix. And that night when he saw Atrix leading Adeline to the bar by hand, he snapped. How could he, how dare he touch his beautiful mate. He was furious, even though he knew all to well he was the one that should be holding her and not rejecting her. That was the night he basically told Atrix to f*** o** and keep his mouth shut. Obviously that didn't work.

"I agree to tell you everything. If you agree to listen to me with an open mind. You have to understand I had only good intentions. I never wanted to hurt you Adeline. Come sit and we can talk." Astrid finally said to Adeline. It was like the tension in the room was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Adeline sat across Astrid and Marcus politely excused himself. That only left one more person in the room but he was still standing besides the door and he didn't have an intention on sitting or even getting a little bit close to his mate. Her smell was too intoxicating even there where he stood.

"I assume you already know some things. I expected Atrix to tell you something one day. I just thought he would wait a little longer. What did he tell you?" Astrid asked with a tint of fear in her voice.

"He told me what you are. What I am. He didn't get in the details about you. He respects you enough to leave that side of the story for you to tell me. He mentioned a link between us but nothing more." On the mention of a "link" Kellam gathered his fists so tightly they were completely white. If he told her about the mate thing he is going to kill him. Regardless if he wanted Adeline to know or not, he was the one who should tell her, the bond is something sacred and powerful  and no one should interfere with it. 

"Okay. Umm, where should I start. So, yes I am a werewolf. I have been my whole life and the community I live in is a pack. Every pack has a leader who earns the title by blood line or combat. My brother is a current leader and his tittle is Alpha. Our parent were leaders of this pack before him, but after their death he was named Alpha. A Luna is Alphas partner and she rules with him. Until Alpha finds his partner his mother carries a role of Luna, as you know our mother is no longer with us and my brother doesn't have a partner yes so for now I carry the duties of Luna. When I say partner I mean a mate. Every werewolf was created by Moon goddess and to every each one of us she awarded a designated sole mate. We can recognize our mate by smell, touch or by looking in their eyes and from that very moment everything we think, do or breath is for our mate. Regarding our pack, our pack is named The Silver Shadow pack and it is the most powerful here in the north. The packs Alpha rules with his second in command Beta, who in this case id Marcus, and third in command gamma and that is Emron. We have different types of warriors and everyone else in this pack has a role that contributes for a pack to function normally. I never told you this because it is forbidden to tell a human of our kind. I would be punished for that. It is not that I don't believe you, it would just give you problems that you can't deal with. As Atrix must of told you, you are a witch and I swear I didn't know it until the day I left you with Kellam. If knew I would of told you so much sooner but after that there were more things I couldn't tell you and that made it even harder. It was why I ignored and avoided you. And after all thing you are about to hear or you already heard, I hope you can find a way to forgive me one day. But now there is a part I have to leave to my brother to tell you." With that Astrid stood up and left Adeline sitting completely shook. Its like someone punched her in the stomach and left her gasping for air. 

"Atrix said something" she turned around to face Kellam who immediately lowered his view. 

"The part about mates. He told me I was mated to this packs leader. From what I can gather that's you. Aren't you?"

"Yes, I am the Alpha of this pack." Kellam said in the lowest tone possible.

"And what does that mean. What are we?" 

"We are mates. But it was not Atrixes place to tell you that b...."

"No! It was yours! And yet what did you tell me? You found me that night in the woods and what did you do after. You lied to my face. From what Astrid said your mate is the most important thing in the world yet you lied to my face and left me to struggle thinking I was completely mad! And I am! I am mad because everything I thought was one big lie!" Now Adeline was crying and shaking on her knees. Kellam was using every inch of his body not to move and soothe her. Those tears that were falling were because of him and with every drop that fell he felt like someone was stabbing him. But he has to stay standing! He has to. He will break if he touches her and there will be no turning back. But now she was starting to breath heavy and it was like she is going to pass out at any moment. And before he finished his thought her eyes closed and she started to fall. But he couldn't let her fall. He just couldn't. Before she touched the ground she fell in his strong arms. She was so small in his embrace, yet it was like she was meant to be there all along. Kellam quickly mind linked packs doctor and  Astrid. While he was running to the doctor he was completely lost in his mind. He was whispering soothing words to Adeline and stroking her back. The sparks he felt made him feel like he was floating on the cloud and when he got to the doctors house and entered the room with a bed, it was almost impossible to let her go. 

"Do something. I don't know what happened. she was crying and she fainted and she isn't waking up. Make her wake up! Now!" Kellam was yelling. He looked like he was going to tear the doctor apart. 

"Calm the f*** down. You are not helping! Get out of here nooow!" Marcus came almost immediately with Astrid at his side who styed in the room.

Marcus dragged Kellam out. "What were you thinking. What did you do to upset her. You are making yourself and her go mad because of the past that you don't even have proof for! Do you want to ruin this pack along with yourself. Get yourself together! With or without her. This is not a way!" 

"How dare you speak of the past. How dare you accuse me of not having proof! They died in front of my eyes. I saw it and you dare to tell me I have no proof!" As he was saying that Astrid came out. 

"She is awake. But please don't disturb her. You did enough." 

Kellam looked to Marcus and said something that he didn't want to. 

"You wanted me to get myself together. Watch me!" And with that he entered the house almost knocking Astrid down.

When Adeline saw him it was like someone was stabbing her once again but he said just one sentence and after that he was gone.

"I Kellam, Alpha of The Silver Shadow pack, reject you Adeline as my mate."
