The Wisper In The Woods

Safe and sound

Adeline was now walking for hours. She reached the wood a long time a ago. She didn't know where she was going but she just continued to walk. Her mind was most certainly playing tricks on her. 

There was a long time since she could do something like today with Kellam. But she could never really control it just like today. Thinking todays events over and over her fathers voice came in her mind. "You are a freak just like your mother. If I knew she would leave me with a demon child I would have left her the minute she started to play tricks on me. If you ever do something like that again I am going to kill you! Do you hear me?! Kill you!" And he shoved her in the corner of her little rusty room. That day Adeline did something that scared her much more than it scared her father, who always feared that she took her mothers gene for magic. Adeline lighted a candle by playing with it. She didn't know what happened but her father  started to beat her in rage after seeing that. 

Since than it was a forbidden subject to talk about in their house. Adeline always noticed that some things aren't so ordinary about her. Thing like that happened one in a while but she shook it off saying that her mind made that all up and is playing tricks on her. She was afraid of her father. 

Adeline didn't have a memory of her mother. But her grandmother always talked about her. Her father on the other hand forbid talking about her. He knew how she died. She always had these powers that were out of this world. But he got used to it, he loved her and every little spell she could doo. But one of her spells went wrong one night and he found her laying in a pool of blood surrounded with her books and candles. That day he swore to never again came in touch with magic. He detested everything supernatural and the biggest fear of his was that his Adeline was same as her mother.

After that he began to drink and he was psychically worn down. That's when he started to blame Adeline for everything. He couldn't look at her. Her curly hair and big brown eyes resembled her mothers one hundred percent. And when Adeline lit that candle he lost it. That was a drop that spilled his glass and he went mad. He started to beat Adeline every now and then and refused her to see her grandmother. 

Delia Lynx was a powerful witch, respected in all covens all around the world. After she lost her daughter her human husband refused to let her see her granddaughter. She could sense the power that radiated from her even when she was a baby. Maybe its for the best, maybe she will live a long and carefree life without knowing about her gifts. Maybe Delia won't lose her granddaughter like she lost her daughter. She was more safe without her. 

Adeline suddenly realized she went too far into the forest. The forest was thick and when the night started to fall she couldn't see anything. She started to panic and she was feeling like she is going to faint any moment now. Adeline started to run as fast as she could but the problem was she didn't know where she was going. She just ran.

And all of a sudden something moved in front of her. It was like a big bear and her heart stopped. This is the end. She froze in her tracks.

It wasn't a bear. It was a wolf and it was too big to be a normal wolf. This was something like a supernatural creature from books she read as a teenager. The wolf didn't move either. It was like the wolf was looking relieved he was seeing her. Adeline didn't dare to move.  And when the wolf came closer she looked into his eyes. Those eyes were so familiar, and so human looking it was like another person is standing in front of her. 

Kellam was indeed relieved. He knew she didn't go home because Astrid almost broke his neck jumping on him and yelling like she was a freak.

"What the hell Kellam. Where is she? I went to her house and the scent is too worn out which means she didn't come home after we picked her up." she was furious "Why did you let her leave? She must be totally freaked out"

A strong feeling of fear permeated through Kellams' body. She didn't go home. Where is she? What if something happened to her. He was starting to lose it.

Mind linking Marcus he ran out of the pack house and started to run. He was heading into the town through the wood but than the scent he so eagerly wanted to feel started to fill his nostrils. Why was her scent in the forest? After the question levitated in his mind he heard her.

Her heart beat was so strong and fast he was concerned for her. She was most certainly having a panic attack. He wasn't thinking about the consequences. Kellam just went towards her.

While he was getting closer to her she was falling in the state of complete shock. And right in the moment she was about to scream she fainted among the fern that overspread the forest floor.

Kellam gently lifted her up and headed home. 

She was safe and sound with him. And he is going to make sure it stays that way.
