VIC'S P.O.V
I found myself back in my room and away from Kellin which was much to my displeasure. Thinking about the fact he had just told me that he loves me, and he meant it, made me instantly promise to myself that I would tell him how I feel before the war starts.
There was no way possibe for me to contact Kellin again within the next few hours so I took this opportunity to get some sleep. I didn't know why at all but I just hadn't been able to sleep and yet I was feeling better. After years of crying myself to sleep, in life and after death, I'm finally happy and I'm not calling out for Kellin's help anymore and yet my sleep routine has been at it's worse. Maybe I was overthinking. I tend to do that a lot.
I swung my legs fully onto my white bed, slowly laying my head onto the soft pillow. Closing my eyes, I imagined Kellin's face. God, it was beautiful. Everything from his cute, little nose to his bright eyes. It seemed so strange how someone so full of life was ironically dead and something so beautiful was held in such a dark place. I wanted him stay with me.
In my head he was smiling at me with his teeth showing, his nose crinkling slightly. It looked as though he was about to say something to me but decided against it as he quickly looked behind him. I couldn't understand why he wanted to peer over his shoulder when I was unable to see anything behind him, we were in a white space full of nothingness.
When he finally looked at me, the shine in his eyes had disappeared. Now they were filled with panic. I'd never seen him panicked before. I didn't like seeing him distressed at all. Rather than dealing with whatever it was that had him on edge, he looked at me longingly but yet still with those scared eyes and took hold of my hand which was hanging down by my side. He clasped my hand between both of his and squeezed his eyes shut as if he was treasuring this moment that he was spending with me.
That notion convinced me that someone was after him and he was going to be taken away from me or that's what I thought. I couldn't have that. He looked like he was going to say whatever it was he was going to say in the first place but he was abruptly stopped by someone pulling him away. I tried to cling to him but his hand slipped out of mine as the figure, that was becoming more than one, dragged him away.
I didn't want to let go but my feet were glued in a fixed position that bound me to where I stood, not letting my opposing movements affect the force that kept me where I was. As he got further away from me, I looked around to see that we had never been in that white space. What I saw was a dark, crimson sky above us and patches of fire dotting areas of the stoned ground. I turned my attention back to Kellin who was struggling in the grasp of his capturers, thrashing around to break free.
Looking at his face made me see how much emotional pain he seemed to be in but everything was happening in slow motion which just made me tilt my head in confusion. He was shouting but there was no sound to the scene that was happening in front of me. No matter how much I tried I couldn't read what his lips were saying.
Then they saw me. I hadn't been doing anything once I accepted the fact that I couldn't move but the people who had taken Kellin noticed my presence which I immediatelty new was a bad thing. Either help Kellin or run were the things running through my mind however I did neither, I continued to stand and watch.
No one was fighting, it was just Kellin trying to escape as he got taken away from me but he had began to try and fight as he threw the first punch. The people surrounding him were screaming and shouting at him and I got the impression that they were desperately attempting to get some information out of him but he was refusing.
