a/n: hey guyss!! that you so much for being patient with me, i hope you enjoy this chapter!
(Note: milaya means sweet girl in ravkan and babink means barbarian)
It's been three days since I got the letters, and still being too busy pacing around my room, and worrying about the worst, I hadn't noticed when the knock on my door sounded. Or when someone came into my room. (A/n: wow some Grisha)
"Hey (n/n)," Zoya breathed out softly, putting a hand onto my shoulder,
"How long does she have?" I asked, getting straight to the point.
She sighed. "About a four months, maybe more maybe less, they say that her organs are having a really hard time working ."
No. This can't be happening. Everything felt like everything was crashing down. Soon enough my eyes started to well with tears at the thought of not having my best friend around. I spun around and enveloped her into a bone-crushing hug.
"Oh saints Zoya," I cursed, "she really isn't going to make it." I whimpered, then took a few breaths,
"I need to see her."
"I know, just be careful."
"You know I will." I whispered, unwrapping her from my arms, "I just have to find a reason to get there first."
"Good luck milaya" She took my face in her hands, then kissed my forehead. "Tell the little babink that I'll miss her."
I chuckled at her choice of words and wiped my tears. "I will, now I have to get going. Don't miss me too much." I winked,
"Please, who would miss you?" She asked, playfully.
And she's back. I thought, rolling my eyes.
"You know you love me,"
"Sure..."
"Hey!"
Now it was her turn to flash a smile, well more of a smirk.
"I love you, (Y/n)." And with that she sashayed out of my room, probably off to torment some Grisha students.
I sighed, gathering all the supplies needed for my journey ahead.
Books? Check.
Food? Check.
Blanket? Check.
Extra clothes? Check.
A reason to go back to Kibrisk that The Darkling would approve of? Nope.
Sighing, I shoulder on my backpack and head out of my room. Maybe I could say that I—. But my thoughts were interrupted by someone bumping into me.
"Watch where you're going." I snapped, but not only after I spoke, I noticed who I was talking too. Looking up, I made eye contact with the gray quarts eyes of The Darkling himself.
"Moi Soverenyi! I'm so sorry, please excuse my ignorance, I didn't know it was you." I apologized, bowing my head slightly.
"You're excused, Nazyalensky. But you're the person I was looking for, how ironic." He chuckled. Confused and worried about why he was coming to see me, I let out a chuckle as well. Then winced of how forced it sounded. After some thought, I shouldered my backpack so that it would be hidden behind me, I wouldn't want him to think that I was deserting, would I?
