Once again, this is an AU (Alternative Universe). This means not everything is the same as we know it from the books or the movies:
Lily and James Potter did not die for the same reason as in the books. (More on that later).
Sirius is alive and has never been to Azkaban, never been accused of murder. He raised Harry together with Lupin and lived with them in Grimmauld Place. (More on that in this chapter as well!)
Harry's scar is bigger than in the books, it actually resembles a real lightning strike bruise like this:
