A/N:

Hello everyone and welcome to my story!

The first chapter is more of a tiny introduction and shorter than my other chapters.

It was six in the morning when the Hogwarts Express rolled into platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross Station in London. The train slowed down and came to a complete halt a few seconds later. Steam was hissing through the train's stack and heated up the whole abandoned platform. For a second the train vanished behind the cloudy, thick steam, but its bright red metal exterior quickly shined back through the dust.

Aline sighed deeply as she stopped in front of the train and looked up at its small sign that read, "Hogwarts Express". The Hogwarts Express departed the station each month, and she was heading to the school one month after the official start of the school year. A few people were standing by the platform, yet she couldn't seem to see anyone her age. Transferring from Beauxbatons was not going to be easy but at least she wasn't on this adventure alone.

With that coherent thought, she noticed a faint voice calling her name. "Aline!! There you are!". She turned around and smiled as she saw her childhood best friend Damien waving at her from a few meters away.

Damien was a tall guy that was built rather slim. His dark-brown curly hair fell slightly on his front and he blew up a curl before giving her a big smile. She started walking up to him, but it didn't take long until he ran towards her, hugging her tightly, and lifting her up into the air, spinning her around.

"Damien!" Aline laughed as he put her down on the floor again. "You know how easily dizzy I get!". He grinned. "Sorry Ally I just missed you too much." She punched him slightly on the chest and looked over his shoulder.

"Your parents are here?" she asked as she stared at him in surprise. "Indeed, they wanted to say goodbye, the transfer is not easy for them." Guilt instantly travelled through Aline's mind as the main reason why Damien was transferring from Beauxbatons to Hogwarts was due to her personal reasons. "It was my decision Aline" he whispered when he noticed her smile drifting away.

Damien turned around, grabbed Aline's hand, and took her to his parents. She had known his parents since she could remember, they had always been welcoming and extremely lovely people. Damien and she both had one muggle parent each which made them bond in their early days. Experiencing both worlds together was eventful and exhausting at times, but they always had each other to rely on.

"Good Morning Mr. and Mrs. Rabeux" Aline smiled as they stood in front of his parents. "Ah nonsense Aline you know you can always call us by our first names", Mr Rabeux laughed. She nodded and gave them a faint smile as she watched Damien say goodbye to his parents, hugging them tightly and kissing his mother on the head. She looked up at him and her eyes started tearing up, droplets washing down her cheek leaving a trail of shine behind. "I'm going to be alright Mom don't worry about me." Damien and Aline started slowly walking towards the train waving his parents goodbye until they had reached the train door.

Seeing Damien having a great relationship with his parents and an amazing support system truly made Aline happy for him. A sudden pain hit her as she started thinking of her own family and not being able to hug them goodbye. She shook herself back to reality when she heard the train pipe whistle, signalling its departure soon.

Damien walked up the train steps and automatically grabbed Aline's luggage. "What a gentleman" she said teasingly while slightly bowing in front of the steps. He rolled his eyes, smiled, and tilted his head to the side gesturing that she should get on the train and follow him.
