I relish in the feeling of finally sharing a home at last, the feeling of waking up next to each other each morning, even though it's just in our pajamas. Being able to come home to the same place, eat dinner together each night, watch movies together on occasion, talk... Snuggle up next to each other in our pajamas in bed before falling asleep... It was bliss.
But slowly still, I started to remember that he was hiding something from me. The phone calls. His phone still went off on occasion, though he had long since moved his phone just to vibrate. I hadn't pressed him, but it had been more than a month since I'd first asked, & I really wanted to maintain that honesty in our relationship. So one afternoon after work, I sat him down on our couch to talk.
I cleared my throat nervously as he came to sit, & he looked on apprehensively, knowing that I had called him to the living room to talk, but not saying what. "It's nothing bad..." I reassure slowly & he slumps down into the couch, sighing. I smile apologetically, coming to sit right next to him, head resting on his right shoulder. "Sorry... Didn't mean to scare you..."
"It's ok..." He breathed, head leaning into mine, planting a kiss on my hair. I blush slightly. "You had me scared there for a bit, but it's ok... What did you want to ask?"
I look down at the carpet, frowning slightly. "I... You never did tell me what happened... With the phone calls... & while I want to give you space... I also worry about you... You need to talk to me... I want honesty in our relationship &... When you don't tell me important things... That worries me..." My hand plays with the fabric on the shoulder of his soft sweater nervously & he slowly takes my hand in his, smiling reassuringly, though sad.
"I... Yeah... I'm sorry... I probably should have told you earlier but..." He looks down at his socked feet on the carpet. "I... didn't know how... & didn't really want to bother you..."
I lean my head into the crook of his neck. "Bother me, Dakota. I love you."
He smiles slowly, blushing. "I love you too." He sighs, collecting his thoughts for a moment before continuing. "The phone calls have a long & rather heavy story behind them, so if you want to hear something like that..."
I smile reassuringly, kissing his ear softly. "I don't mind, love. Tell me why you're hurting."
He looks up at me, eyebrows raised slightly, crooked smile on his face & a light in his eyes. "You're amazing, you know that? None of my other significant others really cared about this sort of thing, but you..."
I smile slightly, trying to remember to listen to his compliment this time, taking his hand & holding it up to my cheek & looking deep into his eyes. "We're soul mates, darling. That's why they call us soul flames."
Awww, they be cute again :3. There's nothing more important than communication, y'all. Even though I'm not in a relationship (sadly... [sigh]), I know that too :'D. It's good that they're finally talking.
Sorry to leave ya guys on a cliffhanger (bc I'm evil, lol), but you'll find out soon what the calls are about so... Just hang in there, y'all.
I'll see you guys later though- Bye :3 <3
