Chapter 51- Dakota

I grin, touching Aden's arm lightly. "That sounds like it was a great offer."

He smiles, eyes distant, seeming to be back in the past. "It was... despite all the work I had to do... I had her to guide me in the beginning..."

My eyebrows furrow & I frown slightly. "& afterward?" I ask gently.

He looks down at the floor again, frowning. "Over the centuries... we've talked less & less... We've both had such busy schedules... &... I never really had the courage to try to contact her again..."

I frown. "I'm sorry... But... why don't you? Try to contact her again?"
He chuckles nervously, head falling back. "No, no, no... I don't think she'd really be interested anyways..."

I raise an eyebrow, grinning. "You never know~"

He sighs, smiling slightly. "I guess... I might try it... I might need a little coaching though..."

I smile brightly. "That's ok... Just text me, we have each other's numbers in our phones... We've just never texted each other..."

He nods, lips turning up. "Yeah... ok... thanks..."

Just in that moment, Rain arrives, back from therapy. He looks between the 2 of us, frowning slightly. He walks over in our direction slowly.

"Hi..." He says hesitantly. "Um... Dakota... Who is this?"
"Oh..." I smile awkwardly. "This is Aden, a friend of mine... Aden, this is my boyfriend, Rain..."

Aden smiles, shaking Rain's hand. "Pleasure to meet you... I've heard so much about you... Mainly how much you've been pining for Dakota through the centuries..." He jokes, laughing lightheartedly & Rain blushes heavily, laughing nervously.

"Yeah..." Rain says, smiling at me slowly, eyes soft. "I have that tendency... Particularly when it comes to someone as wonderful as Dakota..."

I feel myself blush. "Um, uh... thank you... babe..."

Rain chuckles, ruffling my hair playfully & I stand up. "You should probably go to therapy now..." he says & I nod.

"Yeah... but... it was nice catching up with you, Aden..." I smile.

He grins, heading for the door. "You too... I'll try to update you on how things are going with me every now & then..."

I nod, already heading in Dr Cato's direction. "Will do... See ya!"

What'd you guys think of this chapter? Sorry if I'm a little slow to update in the next few days. As I've said before, I am not good at planning out plot & that's what I'm doing rn... I'm not entirely sure the direction I'm going w this book rn, so... it might take me a while to update...
