"Mom! I am home!" I yelled as I walked in the house.
"She hasn't come home from work yet." Ben said, walking down the stairs.
"Oh, that is weird." I said, taking off my shoes. "Eh, I'll make you dinner tonight. What do you want?"
"I am Alvara, and I want meat!" Ben said, laughing.
"Hey! I do love meat tho. What kind of meat do you want? How about beef?" I asked
"YAH!" Ben said, jumping up and down.
I walked into the kitchen, to find the fridge wide open.
"BEN, DON'T LEAVE THE FRIDGE OPEN!" I yelled.
"I didn't!" Ben said.
"Don't lie to me!" I said.
"I am not, I swear I didn't leave the fridge open!" Ben yelled.
"Okay." I said, still thinking he did.
But, then I saw a red liquid on the floor. I followed the trail to the living room. I saw my mother's body on the couch.
Her blank eyes stared forward lifelessly and her face was frozen in a horrific scream. There was a cut on her neck and blood dripped from her mouth onto the floor.
I fell to the floor, crying harder than I ever had. Ben came running down the stairs to my side. He stared blankly at my mother's body.
"Go call 9-1-1!" I said. Ben ran to the house phone and called the cops. He walked back to my side handing me the phone.
"They want to talk to you." Ben said, and still hasn't shed a tear.
I grabbed the phone and pressed it to my ear.
"Is this Alvara Davi?" a lady on the phone said.
"Yes... it is Alvara." I said.
"Okay, I need you to go to the front door and unlock it so the paramedics can come in." she said.
"Why?! SHE IS DEAD!!" I yelled.
"Just please go unlock the front door." she said, obviously trying to keep me calm.
"Fine." I said standing up and unlocking the front door.
Two big men came in, one had a white paramedic suit and the other is a cop suit.
"She is in the living room... please just take her. I cannot look at her any longer." I said. "Ben, come here."
Ben ran to my side and I finally saw a tear on his cheek. We both went outside on the porch. I took my phone out of my pocket and called Aunt Fili.
"Please come get us!! Mom is dead!! DEAD!!" I yelled.
"Okay, calm down, I will be there soon." Aunt Fili said.
