•Maya's POV•

Singhania Mansion

I woke up this morning and realized today is my engagement. I don't know how but these 6 days flew by quick in the thoughts of Aditya. A unknown small smile formed on my lips all of a sudden thinking about him. I am soon going to be Aditya's. Thinking about Aditya I started blushing. Lost in my thoughts I forgot I still live here and have duties to fulfill. So I quickly got up and made my bed because I don't like anything messy. I ran to the shower and showered and came out and wore a plain mauve color churidar with a light blue dupatta, because I have to change later anyways. I put some moisturizer and chapstick like always. I wore my jumkhas and I brushed my hair and put it in a loose braid.

I prayed about today's day to go well and prayed for everyone else's day to go well and they stay safe and I prayed for Aditya more deeply. I have been praying for Aditya for the past 6 days. I don't know why but my heart makes me do it.

Without wasting more time I ran downstairs into the kitchen and started making breakfast. I finished in 15-20 minutes and placed everything on the dining table. I could see everyone coming a little early probably because of the engagement preparations because the engagement was taking place in our house, because the Malhotra's don't want media to know about this and want to keep it a secret. And obviously my parents agreed, so the engagement is taking place here.

Everyone sat in their chairs and I served them and was about to leave. "Stop" said father. I stopped right there and turned around. I got scared all of a sudden because I don't know what I did wrong and last time he told me to stop my whole life took a u-turn. Now I am think that I haven't even left the house and did something without their permission so what is this about. "Today is your engagement and there will be lots of guests and relatives from both sides, so behave and don't do something stupid. Also the Malhotra's or anyone else shouldn't know about your life here. Even though it is your engagement and you will be leaving this house soon but it doesn't mean you can disrespect us and go against our orders even after today or your marriage YOU GET THAT?!" he said yelling at the end. I nodded and went back to the kitchen.

I could hear them talking about the engagement preparations and about the upcoming functions. After they were done eating I went to clean the mess, and when I was some people came and talked with father and Rohan, and started decorating. I guess they are the decorators. Caters came and started listening to the orders they got from mother and father. And the maids cleaned the whole house while mother told me to make some sweets. I knew she told me this because she wanted to show off but I didn't mind I love cooking and baking. Without thinking further I started making ladoos (Ladoos- A Indian sweet dish that is round like a small ball and is orange).

I finished making the ladoos in 30-40 minutes and the time was now 9:30 a.m. I gave the ladoos to the caters so they can serve it later. Now I didn't know what to do so I started helping the decorators in the decorations. It was 10:15 a.m. when we all finished with the decorations and it looked amazing. All the decorators said thanks to me and went outside to add final touches. The whole theme was black with some touches of other colors to mix it up a bit. The inside looked really good and I couldn't go check how it looked outside but it's fine, and I was proud of myself and the decorators.

I felt someone grab my arm and drag me to the side. I looked up and saw it was mother. "What are you doing?! I am looking for you everywhere and you are over here helping the decorators and talking with them. They are getting paid for this so they don't need your help." mother said. I just nodded and hoped for her to get rid of her hand squeezing my arm because I don't want a bruise as I have none because they all healed, because mother didn't hit me for the past six days. She let go of my arm probably realizing and I quickly checked if it left a bruise. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw no marks except some finger marks which will fade away in a few minutes.
