•Maya's POV•

I looked up and saw Adi lying lifelessly on the ground, covered in blood. My heartbeat stopped. "ADI!!" I yelled. The truck that had crashed into him had already ran away. I quickly got up and ran towards Adi. I fell onto my knees and looked at Adi. He was falling unconscious slowly but was breathing. I picked up his bleeding head and put it on my lap. "Adi! I'm sorry. Please don't stop breathing. Don't close your eyes. Just keep breathing and I'll make you reach the hospital. Don't stop breathing and keep your eyes open Adi! You have my sake." I patted his cheek, looking around for a car but the road was empty. "M..ay..a." "I'm here Adi! I won't leave you. Just keep breathing." I said with my voice cracking. "I..lo..ve..y..ou Maya." Just after saying that he closed his eyes. "ADI!!"

I looked around, trying to find a car to help Adi to take him to the hospital. I didn't have my phone with me so I couldn't call anyone. I then saw a car finally coming towards us. I quickly stood up, running towards it. It stopped as I was in front of it. I ran towards the driver's window and knocked on it. The elderly man rolled down his window and said "Betiya is everything alright?" "Uncle! Please help me take my husband to the hospital. He met with an accident." He looked over at where Adi was lying and quickly nodded. "Thank you so much uncle!" He got out of the car and helped me place Adi in the backseat.

Car

I sat in the back seat and placed Adi's head on my lap. My clothes were covered in his blood. Uncle was driving towards the hospital while I just stared at Adi's lifeless body. No one knows about Adi's accident. I need to tell bhai. He'll handle everything. Shoot! I don't have my phone with me. "Uncle..could I please borrow your phone? I need to call someone." "Sure beta." he said, handing me his phone. I quickly dialed bhai's number and prayed for him to pick up. "Hello?" "Bhai..." I said, crying. "Maya? What happened? Why are you crying? And who's number are you calling from?" he asked in a panicked tone. "Bhai..Adi met with an accident." "What!?" he yelled from the other end. "Please come quick to the City Hospital. The uncle who's phone I'm using is taking us there." "Maya I'm on my way. Don't worry. Nothing will happen to Adi." I cut the phone, sobbing. "Adi please don't stop breathing." I whispered.

Hospital

We had reached the hospital and Adi had been lied on the stretcher, being taking in to the Operation Theater. I let go of the stretcher as he had been taken in to the Operation Theater. I cried, not knowing what is happening. All I knew was my Adi had saved me and met with an accident instead. "Beta don't cry. He'll be alright." "Thank you uncle. You did a lot for me and my Adi. I won't ever be able to repay you." I said, joining my hands together. He put my hands down and said "I did this for humanity. But I need to leave now. I was going to my daughter's house to meet my grandson. I'm sorry, I would've stayed but I need to go." "It's okay uncle. You already did a lot for us." He put his hand on my head and said "God will give you your husband back." I hope so! Adi has to wake up for me.

As uncle was leaving, I saw bhai running towards me. "Maya!" "Bhai." He hugged me and I broke down. "Shh Maya." he said caressing my hair. "Bhai, Adi." I said crying, pointing towards the operation theater. "Don't worry Maya. He will be back to normal. Your love for him is so strong that it will wake him up." He broke the hug and made me look into his eyes. "What had happened Maya?"

I started shaking, remembering the happenings. "We..had a fight and..it got so bad...that I ran away. Adi...was chasing me and telling...me to stop but..I didn't listen. Then...when he finally got me to stop..a truck was coming my way. It wasn't applying...it's breaks. Adi then pushed...me out of the way and came...in front of the truck. It then..crashed into him." I said, breaking down again. "Truck!? Did you see the truck? It's plate number or anything?" bhai asked. "It had..ran away before I could reach Adi." I told. "Shit! Wait, if you tell me where the accident took place I could check the cctv." I nodded and told him where it was. I wasn't sure but I just made some close guesses and he understood.
