•Maya's POV•Singhania Mansion: Mendhi
Today is the next day after the sangeet, and the mendhi. The mendhi is only going to be celebrated with my side of the family because from today me and Aditya can't meet each other. And it's not like we meet each other on a normal basis anyways. We will have our own mendhi function while Aditya and his family have their own function. The mendhi function is where the bride gets her hands and feet decorated with mendhi, which is a signature of the girl who is getting married. The whole family celebrates and the ladies in the family also get there hands decorated with mendhi.
I am wearing the lengha Aditya picked for me, when we went shopping together. It is a pretty sleeveless green lengha with light minimum golden embroidery in it, which makes it look beautiful. It has a matching green net dupatta. It is not to heavy or has that much bling, it is perfect just like I want it. I didn't do much makeup today, because no one special is coming to see me only family who hates me. Just some blush, highlighter, and lipstick. Which my cousin helped me with. I wore some simple earrings mother gave me. I am not wearing my anklets because the hook is sort of broken, so I don't want them to break and will get them fixed soon as possible. My hair is in a half-up-and-down look making the look come together.
With that all being said I am all ready and heading towards the backyard where the henna artist is, with a cousin of mine 'Laila' who of course hates me. "I don't know how you got so lucky and are marrying that handsome piece of art. You are supposed to belong under our feet and you over here are marrying one of the biggest business tycoons who is also rich and hot." my cousin Laila said while we reached to the backyard, with lots of hate in her tone. I didn't want to look up at her because I was trying to control my tears which were gonna spill out any minute. Whatever she said hit my heart really hard.
While the henna artists were doing there work on my hands, I was lost in my own thoughts thinking about what Laila said. Why does this family hate me so much? I never did wrong to anyone before, as much as I remember. Everyone here hates me except for Rohan, well I think he doesn't because he never was rude to me or said anything to me. We just had a silent relationship between us which is nothing like a brother-sister relationship, but enough for me. I hope Aditya doesn't hate me like they do because I won't be able to bare another person hating me, especially who is going to be my husband.
I was taken out of my thoughts when the henna artist shook me. "Didi, what is your soon-to-be husband's name?" asked the henna artist. I was confused first of why she is asking but then realized it's a custom where the bride writes the groom's name in her hands with henna, and later the groom has to find it. "Adi..tya..Aditya." I said stuttering at the beginning for a second.
The henna artist finished both my hands and feet in 5 and a half hours, and let me tell you I was really tired of sitting. My stomach was asking me for food but I know if I asked anyone here they would give me hatred instead. And even if I asked for food I won't be able to eat it, because the henna is still dry. So I just sat there until someone told me to go back inside. The whole function I heard badmouthing of me and how rich the Malhotra's are. Why are these people so money money minded?
Throwing that aside I spent the whole night without eating anything because I could only take my henna off in the morning. So I had a sleepless night with an empty stomach.

Singhania Mansion: Haldi
Currently I am being rubbed with haldi by my relatives. No no this is not a punishment, this is actually a ceremony. The haldi takes place one day before the wedding where the bride and groom both get rubbed with a turmeric and water mixture. Both sides do it separately, so the bride and groom won't be able to see each other. Which means tomorrow I will be married to Aditya Malhotra and also be a Malhotra.
