chapter two - a new friend?

"morning wooyoung!" hongjoong ran up to him as he saw him in the school hallway.

"good morning hongjoong-hyung, how are you?"

"great! i went to seonghwa's house while it was raining yesterday and it was really fun! you?"

"i-i'm good."

wooyoung decided not to tell hongjoong about the mysterious event that had happened yesterday.

he was wearing the hood that the mystery person had left him, only because he couldn't bother finding anything else to wear.

"okie~ see ya at lunch!" hongjoong gave him a pat on his shoulder before heading towards his class.

"bye."

wooyoung didn't really understand why hongjoong was so ecstatic today, it was just a normal school day. he was not going to question it.

instead, he made his way to class.

"okay class." wooyoung's teacher, mr. lee called, to get everyone's attention. "i know this is quite sudden, but we'll be having a new student in our class."

the class started to have mixed feelings about this comment. mr. lee continued, quieting everyone.

"he should be coming to the classroom any time soon, please stay patient."

now all the class had to do was wait.

everyone started to have their own conversations, still keeping it at a whisper.

"wooyoung, you excited?" asked yunho, from across the table.

"no, why should i be? i don't give a crap about new students. it's not like they'll be interesting or anything." wooyoung rolled his eyes. "all new kids are the same."

"oh, okay. just asking because apparently i heard it's a boy." yunho shrugged his shoulders.

"so what?"

"i don't know, he's cute?"

wooyoung sighed as he gave a death stare to his friend.

"i get you're gay, but i really don't care." he spat before breaking the eye contact between them and dismissing their conversation.

"don't say that like you're not gay too!"

wooyoung was annoyed.

he was about to say something back when the door suddenly slammed open.

"sorry i'm late!" an awkward, loud voice exclaimed before closing the door again.

"you're here, finally." mr. lee muttered bluntly, turning to the class.

"everyone, the new student is here." he stated, causing the class to look towards the front of the room. "please introduce yourself."

"um, hi? my name is choi san and it's nice to meet all of you." the new student smiled.

"okay, well san, there's a seat right there," mr. lee pointed towards wooyoung. "next to wooyoung."

crap.

"wooyoung, put your hand up."

wooyoung slowly did as the teacher asked, and san cheerfully made his way to his seat.
"okay class, now we can get started."

why did he have to sit right next to me?

wooyoung was quite irritated by the seating arrangement, but he had to agree with yunho, the new student was pretty cute.

wait, what am i thinking?

"hi, it's wooyoung, right?"

this was what wooyoung was dreading this whole time.

wooyoung was more of an introvert, he mostly kept to himself and he hated making new friends. he already had enough friends.

"yeah..."

"cool! as you know, i'm san."

he sounds very overly happy.

"yeah." wooyoung wasn't really sure how to respond, so he was just giving him blunt answers.

"so, can i join you at lunch?"

"sure?" wooyoung didn't really mind, to be honest. most of his friends weren't in this class so they probably wouldn't know san.

"yay! oh, uh, thanks." san giggled like a child.

great, time for a very stressful day.

maybe wooyoung was just being dramatic and he wasn't so bad.

let's just get this class done...

he spent the rest of his class dozing off (and staring at san as he worked).
