the sudden change of vision from black to white blinded me.

"ugh..." i groaned.

"careful." i heard an unfamiliar voice next to me. "your wounds haven't healed completely yet."

i glanced towards the person who had just spoken.

he had a tired expression on his face. he looked about the same age as me, but taller.

"what happened to you?" he asked.

"you really don't have to tell me if you're uncomfortable!" he added.

"j-just family issues." i replied dryly.

"oh..." he looked at me with a sympathetic look.

i felt tears stinging my eyes, but i held them in.

"do you have any family members? good ones, i mean."

i smiled a bit. "yeah, i have an older sister, named sara." i really felt like i needed to see her.

"okay, i'll tell the hospital staff then." he stood up slowly and smiled at me. "hope you feel better."

"thanks."

as the boy opened the door, he took one last look at me.

"by the way, what's your name?"

"yeosang. kang yeosang."

"cool. nice to meet you yeosang." he made a thumbs up before saying, "i'm seonghwa."

then he left.

shortly after he left, seonghwa returned with a grin on his face.

"good news! the hospital got a hold of your sister, and she's coming as quick as she can!" he beamed.

i couldn't help but break out into tears.

"woah, woah! are you okay?"

"i-i'm okay. i just really want to see her..."

"ah, i guess it has something to do with family issues."

i simply nodded.

"speaking of family, i feel like seeing someone." seonghwa shyly grabbed his phone out and called someone.

who's he calling?, i wondered.
