RANDOM QUESTION OF THE DAY: WHOSE YOUR FAVORITE GREEK GOD OR GODDESS?

________

-HADES THRONE ROOM-

"Father, please. This is the time I can spend protecting my brother." Melinoe pleads at the foot of Hades throne.

Aidoneus, who is dressed in garbs the color of shadows and night and a black cloak fastened with a gold chain, looks down at his daughter with cold, unyielding eyes.

"For the final time, the answer is no." His voice, carrying a hint of annoyance, cuts in. "This discussion shall no longer go further."

To the right of Hades is a throne made of wood threaded with dark green vines and flowers near the base. It's almost as big as his own, but made for his first wife, the Queen of the Underworld, Persephone—who is currently spending her time on Earth as part of an ancient deal.

To the left of Hades sits Thanatos, God of Death, an advisor and reasonably trusted companion. The minor god clears his throat softly as he almost takes pity on Melinoe.

"My lord?" He asks hesitantly, Aidoneus slowly turning his eyes towards him. "Perhaps it would be beneficial for your daughter to protect the Prince of your kingd-"

"Do not speak unless I ask or it is needed." Hades snaps, causing Thanatos to quickly face forward, his mouth closing at once.

"Father." Melione gets his attention back, her half-white, half-black face slowly crumbling apart from despair. "There is a convicted murderer on the loose in their world."

"I am aware." Hades replies coldly, his face as still as stone. "One of my former classmates, Sirius Black."

"Then you must be aware that Y/N needs all the protection he can get!" The goddess argues, now standing to her feet. "I have been in the mist of those magical mortals. Their protection is as minuscule as a grain of sand."

Hades leans forward in his throne slightly, his hand grasping his legendary bident a bit tighter. "Have you forgotten the oath you took when Y/N received his Hogwarts letter?"

Melinoe's eyes widen, almost taking a step back as she starts to remember the moment as if it was yesterday. Her face points towards the ground in sorrow, her white, ghost-like dress dimming to match her emotions.

Her voice is barely above a whisper. "I...I do."

Satisfied that her memory hasn't left her, Hades leans back. "Then you should remember, on the River Styx itself, that you swore that when the boy learned of his true nature, that you could and would no longer interfere physically with their world."

Melinoe has always held a bit of resentment for her father for making her uphold that damn path. Even her mother couldn't sway Aidoneus to change his mind before doing the deed.

"But things are going to get much worse in the future." Melione insists, her mind frantically trying to come up with a reason. "He will need me! Every second he spends in that castle, the more vulnerable he will get without my help."

"No." Hades growls as he slams the bottom of his bident on the ground, the noise vibrating through the castle to get his point across. "He is no longer a defenseless boy. He will learn his true power, and when he does, no being on their world will oppose him."
