-1975-

After getting permission from Aidoneus Mavros to continue their pranking on Snape, James laughs with glee....that is, until Lily Evans shows up.

Lily, whose furious expression is twitching for an instant as though she is going to smile, faces Potter, "Let him down!"

"Certainly," James replies and he jerks his wand upward. Snape falls into a crumpled heap on the ground. Disentangling himself from his robes, Severus gets up on his feet quickly, wand up, but Sirius Black is quicker, "Petrificus Totalus!" and Snape keels over again at once, rigid as a board.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Lily shouts. She has her own wand out now. James and Sirius eyes it warily.

"Ah, Evans, don't make me hex you," James retorts with a slight teasing tone to his voice.

"Take the curse off him, then!"

James sighs deeply, then turns to Snape and muttered the counter curse.

"There you go," He says, as Snape struggles to his feet again, "you're lucky Evans was here, Snivellus, otherwise-"

"I don't need help from filthy little Mudbloods like her!" Snape finally says outloud with a roar.

Aidoneus, who is covered in the shade by the tree, stiffens up a bit as he stops his chewing of the apple.
He has awaited the day Snape would utter the dreadful word out loud, now he has to pay with blood.

Lily simply blinks. "Fine," she says coolly. "I won't bother in future. And I'd wash your pants if I were you, Snivellus."

"Apologize to Evans!" James roars at Snape, his wand pointed threateningly at him.

"I don't want you to make him apologize," Lily shouts, rounding on James. "You're as bad as he is. . . ."

"What?" James yelps in disbelief. "I'd NEVER call you a-"

"That's enough." Aidoneus says in a whisper, but with enough authority for everyone to stop what they're doing. Mavros leaves the tree and calmly walks towards the group.

Lily feels a cold shiver travel down her neck as the tall Slytherin inches closer to her and puts a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"Why don't you head back to the castle? You've been through enough as is." He tells her with the most sincere tone she has ever heard from him.

The one thing ruining it is the red and black snake wrapped around his neck, flicking their tongue out towards Lily's face.

Lily nods slowly as she stares into his dark, almost obsidian colored eyes. "Okay....thank you, Aidoneus."

"Don't mention it." He smirks as he pats her shoulder. "Now get out of here."

As the red headed girl takes her leave, Aidoneus takes a dark look to his face and looks at each of the Marauders. "You four...leave me to my fellow Slytherin."

"But-" Sirius starts off before Mavros holds a harder glare.

"Now..."

James quickly nods as he grabs Sirius and Remus and walk back up towards the castle, hoping to catch up with the angered Lily.
